Bernie, Missouri – The Bernie High School Drama Department presents a play, “Alfred Hitchcock Taught Me Everything I Know,” by Pat Cook.  The Drama Department is lead by Mrs. Kristy Bates.

The story is about Maura Milton who applies for a bookkeeper’s job at the home of one Tyrone Bartholomew.  However, she soon finds out there isn’t one Tyrone Bartholomew but many.  This spry old actor relishes life and flies from one character to another whenever dealing with the outside world.

Maura wants to prove that she can stand on her own two feet and in between dodging gangsters with guns and a wild-eyed lady with an ax, she starts to question her career choice.  It is only when the police arrive that she questions Tyrone.

It’s a comedy, drama and little bit of mystery all thrown together to keep the audience guessing until the end.

Carl Voss will be staring at Tyrone Bartholomew with leading lady Sarah Elles as Maura Milton.  The following is a list of Bernie students who will be acting in the play and the characters they will be portraying.

Jeff Cox as Roger Lambert
Jordan Webb as Mrs. Goodman
Amber Miller as Mrs. Dinstitch
Ryan Dennington as Scotty
Stephanie Hill as Trudy Hambrick
Darrian Tyra as Sherman O'Hara
Westley Carter as MacElroy
Kaite Dean as Officer Annie
Rachael Parson as Officer Daphne
Andrew Reif as Feeney
Westley Carter as Louis
Marcy Briles as Lady

The event will be held on Friday, April 26th in the Bernie High School Cafeteria.  The doors will open at 6:30 p.m. with the play beginning at 7:00 p.m.

Admission is $1 for students and $2 for adults.  The public is welcome to attend and spend the evening watching these remarkable students act on stage.   It’s a performance you won’t want to miss.

The Bernie High School is located at 516 West Main St. in Bernie.

Dexter, Missouri - Logan Quertermous signed to play football for Faulkner University in Montgomery, Alabama.

Logan's family, parents Travis and Kelly Quertermous along with his brother, Brandon were at the Bearcat Event Center to witness Logan's scholarship signing ceremony.  Coach James Sneed, head Wrestling Coach and Asst. Football Coach and Mr. Aaron Pixley, head Football  Coach.

"I am majoring in History and the Bible,  Playing football was a bonus.  It was important to me that they offer studies in the Bible because not every college offers that," stated the senior.  "Another great advantage to going to Faulkner is that it's only an hour and a half from the beach!"

We are very proud of Logan and his accomplishments.  Throughout the high school he is affectionately known as "Q" due to the length of his last name.  He even learned that he was offered a choir scholarship to Faulkner University as well.

Faulkner University is a four year NAIA school and a member of the Mid-South Conference.

Faulkner University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award associate, baccalaureate, master’s and juris doctor degrees.
