Dexter, Missouri – The Dexter High School Future Farmers of America Chapter Contest Teams are traveling to the State FFA Convention in Columbia, Missouri on Wednesday, April 17th.

They will be competing against other high school FFA students, singing in the FFA choir or providing FFA talent for the convention.  The students will also receive their first place rating for their record books and FFA scrapbook.

The theme for this year’s Convention is “Value The Past, Embrace Your Future”.  This annual convention attracts more than 8,000 students and guests to the Hearnes Center on the University of Missouri’s campus and this year will be no exception.

The DHS Poultry Team consists of Erika McCoy, Emily Peters, Paula Hagy and Chelsey Massey.

The DHS FFA Knowledge Team consists of Hannah Craft, Garrett Kyle and Madison Bishop.

During the two-day conference, the Missouri FFA will present awards to adults and groups for their support of agricultural education and FFA as well as student awards.

We wish these student well as they travel to Columbia to compete, sing and enjoy such a great organization and what it has to offer.

Ronnie Shipman is the Agriculture Instructor for DHS and the FFA Advisor.  If you have a student that wishes to join FFA have him/her contact Mr. Shipman at the school.
