Dexter, Missouri – The Future Farmers of America Chapter at Dexter Senior High was honored to have one of its members, Matney Davis, selected to perform at the State FFA Convention.
Matney, a ninth grader was recently selected to perform FFA Talent at the Missouri state convention. She is one of forty-eight FFA Members from across Missouri to perform. She filled out an application and submitted a video of her performance in order to be selected. Matney is not only a singer, but also songwriter and an accomplished musician. She loves to play guitar!
She will perform at 2:10 p.m. on Thursday afternoon at the pre-session of the first convention session of the 85th Missouri State FFA Convention; which will be held in Columbia, Missouri on April 18th and 19th.
The theme for this year’s event is “Value The Past, Embrace Your Future”. This annual convention attracts more than 8,000 students and guests to the Hearnes Center on the University of Missouri’s campus and this year will be no exception. Guest speakers will be Kalie Hall, National FFA Secretary and from Carnesville, Georgia, Peterson Farm Brothers from Assaria, Kansas, and Harriet Turk from Memphis, Tennesse.
During the two-day conference, the Missouri FFA will present awards to adults and groups for their support of agricultural education and FFA as well as student awards.
