Dexter, Missouri - The Future Farmers of America (FFA) Chapter of the Dexter Senior High School elected a new slate of officers for the 2013-2014 year on Monday April 8, 2013.
As a student at DHS you must fill out an application and then go through officer interviews to become an officer of the FFA Chapter. This year Derek Felker, the only retiring senior officer, Mr. Joe Pulliam, a surveyor with Smith and Co. and Matt Blevins, an agriculture education student at Southeast Missouri State University, interviewed the candidates.
The candidates were individually interviewed and questioned about FFA Chapter history and how they would react to certain situations that might arise during the year.
The new officers are: Chelsey Massey-President; Garrett Kyle- Vice-president; Erika McCoy- Secretary, Brianna Madigan-Treasurer; Shelby Edwards-Reporter; and Dustin Bates- Sentinel.
The new officers will be installed at the annual Dexter FFA Parent-Member banquet on May 9 at 6:30 in the high school cafeteria.
