Threatening Weather May Arrive This Evening

Dexter, Missouri – It may still be January; however the area is under a Tornado Watch until 8 p.m. this evening. We are expected to have strong storms with temperatures already in the low 70’s will be dropping into the mid 40’s during the night.
The potential for an outbreak of severe thunderstorms is increasing across the Stoddard County area with the potential for isolated tornadoes, damaging winds and rain. The greatest thunderstorm threat will come during the hours of 6 p.m. to midnight.
Stay tuned to your local weather radio for more alerts as we may get 1 to 2 inches of rain. Flooding in some areas may occur.
We are also under a Wind Advisory until noon on Wednesday. sustained wind speeds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.
