Flora Bell Blocker daughter of the late Ralph W. Fralick and Ella Gray Thomas Fralick, was born on July 24, 1928, in Marion, Kentucky, and passed away on December 30, 2012, at Landmark Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, at the age of 84.

Mrs. Blocker was a custodian for the Bloomfield Schools for fifteen years and retired in 1990.  She was a member of the Walker Mt. Zion General Baptist Church in Bloomfield and a resident of Dexter.  Flora enjoyed life, the church, her family and friends.  She was so very proud of her son, Bruce, and daughter-in-law, Pam.  Bruce was the joy and love of her life.

She was united in marriage to Eugene Blocker on December 14, 1948, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.  Mr. Blocker preceded her in death on May 17, 2008.

She is survived by one son, Bruce Blocker, and his wife, Pam, of Dexter, Missouri; by one brother, Tom Fralick, of Bernie, Missouri; by three sisters, Ruby Stanfield of Bernie, Missouri, Lois Hicks of Bernie, Missouri, and Ruth Ann Medlin of Flint Michigan.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Louis Fralick and Frank Fralick; and by two sisters, Mildred Fralick, and one in infancy.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Tuesday, January 1, 2013, from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.  Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, January 2, 2013, at 2:00 P.M. at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Cooper officiating.  Interment will follow in the Walker Cemetery.

Sandra J. Lawrence

Sandra J. Lawrence, daughter of the late Arnold Cowsert and Mary Turley Cowsert, was born on October 21, 1935, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and passed away on December 30, 2012, at Gideon Care Center in Gideon, Missouri, at the age of 77.

Mrs. Lawrence was a homemaker, a member of the United Methodist Church and a resident of Dexter.

She was united in marriage to Yewell Gene Lawrence on June 14, 1954 in Mississippi.  Mr. Lawrence survives at the home.

Besides her husband, she is survived by one son, Bud Lawrence, and wife, June, of Dexter, Missouri; by two daughters, Karen E. Lawrence of Lake Ozark, Missouri, and Kelly A. Lawrence of Fort Myers, Florida; by one sister, Terry Delene Adams of Bernie, Missouri; by two grandchildren, Natalie Kay Wolfe and Yewell Hunter Lawrence; by one step-grandchild, Bridgett Kielhofner, and her husband, Brandon; and by two step-great-grandchildren, Bryson Kielhofner and Braydon Kielhofner.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, James A. Cowsert.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Wednesday, January 2, 2013, from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M.  Funeral services will be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, January 2, 2013, at 11:00 A.M. with the Rev. Jim Adams officiating.  Interment will follow in the Bloomfield Cemetery at Bloomfield, Missouri.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 9374 Olive Boulevard, Suite 101, Saint Louis, MO  63132-3253.

Arthur “Bud” Vaughn, Jr.

“Bud” Vaughn, Jr., son of the late Arthur Lee and Ruby Maze Vaughn, was born on August 3, 1930, in Dexter, Missouri and passed away at his home in Bloomfield, Missouri on December 30, 2012, at the age of 82 years. 

Arthur had lived in Bloomfield most of his life. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Bible Tabernacle Church in Bloomfield.

On September 23, 1967, he married Geneva Davis in Essex, Missouri.

Surviving are his wife, Geneva Vaughn of Bloomfield; five sons, DeWitt Vaughn of Middleton, Missouri, James Vaughn of Dexter, Richard Vaughn, Loyd Wills, Jr and John Wills all of Bloomfield; four daughters, Gloria Damron of Boise City, Oklahoma, Alice Faye Vaughn of Middleton, Missouri, Becky Odum of Essex, Vicky Wilson of Bloomfield; 14 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; five brothers, Rolla Lee Vaughn, Jerry Vaughn and Randy Vaughn all of Dexter, Ronnie Vaughn of Holy Rude, Kansas, Dale Vaughn of Bloomfield; four sisters, Betty Horn and Sharon Gaughan both of Bloomfield, Rose Champion of Iola, Kansas and Barbara Davis of DeSoto, Missouri. Other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded Arthur in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Larry and Eugene Vaughn; and one sister, Brenda Link.

Friends may visit on Wednesday January 2, 2013, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday January 3, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev. Dudley Hamilton of Morehouse, Missouri officiating.

Interment will be in the Missouri Veteran’s Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with full military honors, Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements.

Alan Dale Hanner

Alan Hanner, son of Robert Hanner and Diane Bruce Hanner of Bloomfield, Missouri was born on January 7, 1968 in Selmer, Tennessee and departed this life on December 28, 2012 at the age of 44 years.

Alan was an employee at Missouri Tractor Supply in Sikeston, Missouri. He was also an experienced mechanic and handy man to many local business and individuals. Alan was a member of the Dexter Elks Lodge #2439 and a resident of Bloomfield, Missouri.

Besides his parents, he is survived by three daughters, Courtney Hanner and Macy Hanner both of Malden, Missouri and Brittney Hanner of Dexter; two brothers, Mark Hanner of Bloomfield and Wade Hanner of Bernie, Missouri; by one grandson, Brayden Reed of Malden, Missouri; also by his maternal grandmother, Anna Bruce of Bloomfield.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Kevin Hanner.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 10:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. Monday December 31, 2012.  Funeral services will then be conducted on Monday at 1:00 P.M. at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Sue Welborn officiating.  Interment will follow in the Bloomfield Cemetery.
