Melissa A. Bell, daughter of Thomas Spingler and Donna Garhart Spingler, was born on November 30, 1972, in Auburn, New York, and departed this life at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter, Missouri, on December 2, 2012, at the age of 40.

Mrs. Spingler was united in marriage to James R. Bell on March 19, 2011, in Reddick, Florida. Mr. Bell survives at the home. She was employed as a Certified Nurses Aid and formerly resided in New York.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her parents, Thomas and Donna Spingler of Weedsport, New York; by five sons, Chris Hawkins-Bell of Bloomfield, Missouri, Ty Hawkins-Bell of Bloomfield, Missouri, James Jefferys of Bellview, Florida, Thomas Schmit of Cortland, New York, and Jonathan Jefferys of Cortland, New York; by one daughter, Danielle Schmit of Bellview, Florida; by one brother, Timothy Spingler of Weedsport, New York; and by two sisters, Diana Spingler and Christina Spingler, both of Weedsport, New York.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Friday, December 7, 2012, at 4:00 P.M. A memorial service will follow at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter at 5:00 P.M. with the Rev. Tim Russell officiating.
