The Fowl Life Visits Webb's Woods

Dudley, Missouri - Preparations have been made by serious and not so serious duck hunters in the area and this past Saturday began the annual event of opening morning of the 2012 duck season.  Fields have been flooded, decoys tied and shells purchased in hopes of a great year.

A special visit this year by "The Fowl Life by Chad Belding" was the talk among the community waterfowl fans.  Chad Belding and his crew rolled into the Webb's Woods Hunting club this afternoon.  With a complete film crew in tow, the group was busy introducing area hunters to products of their sponsors. 

Chad Belding became successful with his reality hunting show which launched in 2008, and airs in more than 40 million homes in North America.

Fans across the nation have watched as Belding and his crew travel more than 15 states across the U.S to experience real life waterfowl action.  The show incorporates local guests in each location who offer insight and tips about the local hunting.

John Thompson of Webb's Woods Hunting Club will be the guest on the show with Chad as they hunt the border Otter Slough Conservation Area. 

More than eighty friends and area hunters were on hand to welcome "The Fowl Life" crew at a preseason celebration on Friday evening.  The group was treated to a great BBQ menu by former Dexter pitmaster, Darrell Hicks, of Cajun Cookers and Hicks' World Champion Smoked Meats.  The meal included many of the Hicks' Sysco Heat 'N Eat BBQ product line of Boston Pork Butts, Maple Flavored Bacon Wrapped Chicken Thighs, BBQ Beef Top Sirloin and BBQ Ribs.  Hicks and his team (Dallas Buchanan, Jason Comfort and Alan Hedrick) also provided an incredible Cajun jambalaya along with BBQ baked bean, slaw and other side dishes. 

The evening concluded with special music by local artist Theron Woods and Keith Allen, of Banded Nation.  Picking and playing guitars, the music was outstanding and very fitting for the preseason activities.

“The Fowl Life with Chad Belding” is a highly entertaining and educational look at waterfowl hunting. The team makes it a point to give tips, strategies, and advise on all aspects of duck and goose hunting, including decoy placement, blind set-up, calling, and different scenarios they have encountered throughout the years.

The Fowl Life is a journey with a goal to bring fans the heart pounding action as well as in depth instruction on each episode.  Each week, the group will chase waterfowl and predators in some of the hottest hunting areas throughout Canada, Mexico, and all over the United States.  You can count on one thing, the crew will be having fun in the field and doing it right.
