The Dexter Varsity Football Bearcats will be in action Friday night at Charles "Seed" Bland Stadium at 7:00 for a match-up with the Charleston Bluejays.  This is the annual Homecoming football game for the Dexter Bearcats and is sure to showcase maximum effort from the home team Bearcats as they try to get a win for the Bearcat faithful.

The game will feature a very good Charleston Bluejays team against a young and upcoming Bearcat squad.  The Bluejays have 4 wins and only two losses to Sikeston and Caruthersville this season.

The Bearcats come into this game after a tough loss at the hands of the New Madrid County Central Eagles last Friday night.  The Cats played a good game and had chances to win the game with a couple of opportunities in the redzone but failed to get into the endzone.  The Bearcats ultimately lost the game which took their record to 1-5 on the season.

The Bearcats opponent this week the Charleston Bluejays, look to be just as formidable as last weeks match-up with the New Madrid County Central Eagles.  The Charleston Bluejays sit with a record of 4-2, with wins against; Cleveland NJROTC a school from St. Louis, Hayti, NMCC, and Kennett.

The Bluejays most recent win came last Friday night against the Kennett Indians.  The Indians played the game close and only trailed by 12 points with 10 minutes left in the fourth quarter but the Bluejays rushing attack proved to be too much for the Indians to handle.

Aaron Pixley is 11-1 against the Bluejays as head coach of the Dexter Bearcats.  Dexter has won 10 straight games against the Bluejays, with the average margin of victory over Charleston being 26 points.

Dexter will need to play tough on defense on Friday night if they want to stop the Charleston Bluejays rushing attack.  The Bearcats are sure to be fired up for this Homecoming game against the Charleston Bluejays, so make sure you come out and support them on Friday night at 7:00 as they try for a win.
