D&S Drug and Soda Fountain in Dexter is the only independent pharmacy in the community and it is more than your average drug store. The D&S Drug and Soda Fountain offers daily specials such as chicken and dumplings, chili, taco soup, spaghetti, and other home-style foods that will satisfy your taste buds. Aside from their appetizing specials, they also have their grilled sandwiches and many other menu items that people of all ages will enjoy. Just like the food, the atmosphere is great too. The diner is replicated to look similar to a 1950’s diner complete with stools, an old time soda fountain, and checkered tiles on the floor.
The diner offers more than just sandwiches and daily specials, they also offer breakfast dishes. Bacon, sausage, eggs, gravy, and coffee will be served to you as early as 8:00am on Monday through Friday.
The D&S Drug Store is known for their hardworking employees that treat you like family and their excellent pharmacy. They also have a wide array of gift items including candles, picture frames, the popular Katydid line of clothing.
D&S is also popular for their lip smacking sandwiches. They offer so many different types of sandwiches such as: Peanut Butter and Jelly, BLTs, Fried Bologna, Chicken Salad, Philly Steak and many more.

On top of having some of the best sandwiches in town, the diner also cooks hamburgers, hotdogs, and chicken strips served with hot french-fries on the side. In addition to their main dishes, you can also order fried vegetables like fried green tomatoes or fried dill pickle chips. After you finish your tasty meal, be sure to check out their famous sundaes, floats, hand-dipped ice cream cones, and milkshakes made with whipped cream and cherries on top.
The store opens its doors at 8:00am and closes at 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. If you don’t have time to stop in to enjoy the old fashioned diner setup while eating your dinner, then call the order in and you can pick it up through their handy drive thru window. For those customers who are too busy or cannot get out of their home, the pharmacy will deliver prescriptions to Dexter and its surrounding areas.
