Area boys basketball teams converged on the campus of Dexter High School this morning to compete in the first boys Rib City Shootout of the summer.  Over 40 teams from three states are in the two-day tournament.  Make sure to check back with the ShowMe Times this weekend for more photos from the first round in the Boys and Girls divisions!

Several players - and one coach - of the DHS Softball team are competing on the SEMO Intensity travel softball team this summer.  The Intensity are (front row, from left): Ashely Brown, Diana Gilliam, Madison Bishop, Brittney Brown, Trista Clark, Tiffany Watson, (back row) coach Tony Rickman, Becky Anderson, Riley Rickman, Kendra Stevenson, McKenzie Anderson, Kayla Ward, and coach Chris Bolin.  Intensity's next home game is Tuesday (June 12) at 6:00 p.m. on the 'ditch field' by the DPR Complex.(Not pictured are Whitney Layton and Kat Cooper.)

The Dexter Parks and Recreation Little League baseball season rolls on, despite threatening weather during the last two nights of contests.

During both Thursday and Monday's matchups, coaches and parents hoped to squeeze the games in before cloudy skies turned to rain, and luckily all games were able to be played on both nights.

With temperatures expected to be in the 80's and slim chances of rain for the rest of the week, tonight (Tuesday, June 5) and Thursday's (June 7) full schedule should go off without a hitch from Mother Nature.
