Bettie Rowland, daughter of the late Edward W. Bean and Olive Taylor Bean was born on September 9, 1918 at Sikeston, Missouri and died on April 15, 2012 at the Cypress Point Skilled Care Facility in Dexter at the age of 93.

Mrs. Rowland was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dexter, a seamstress for Elders Manufacturing and a resident of Dexter.

On November 23, 1939 she was united in marriage to Marvin DeWayne Rowland in Corinth, Mississippi.  Mr. Rowland preceded her in death on March 24, 1990.

She is survived by two sons, Dennis Rowland of Dexter and Gene Rowland of Dexter; by two daughters, Edwina Woolard of Puxico and Marla Buchanan of Puxico; by one brother, Wallace Gayle Bean of Dexter; by one sister, Ruth Kee of St. Louis, Missouri; by nine grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 5 until 8 p.m., Tuesday, April 17,2012.  Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 18, 2012 in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral chapel with Rev. Wayne Dismuke officiating.

Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
