Bertha Mooney, daughter of the late Tom and Myrtle Lee Burns Whitworth was born in Clinton, Arkansas on July 29, 1928, and passed away at the Missouri Southern Health Care in Dexter, Missouri on March 31, 2012, at the age of 83.
She had lived in Clinton, Arkansas before moving to Bernie. She was of the Pentecostal Faith. She had worked as a cook for workers on the river barges.
Surviving are one son, Edward Thomas Mooney of St. Charles and one daughter, Deborah Barnes of Bernie; three grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, by one brother, Pete Whitworth of Illinois, and two sisters, Irene Dugan and Edna Wallace, both of Parma; other relatives and friends also survive.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Opal, Porter and Chestell.
Visitation will be held after 12 p.m., Monday, April 2, 2012, at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Parma.

Interment will be in the Bernie Cemetery in Bernie, Missouri.
Martha L. Ward, daughter of the late Albert S. and Mollie C. Carnes Lincoln, was born in Wappapello, Missouri on November 20, 1918, and passed away at the Puxico Nursing Center on March 28, 2012, at the age of 93 years, 4 months and 8 days.
Martha lived in the Wappapello area all her life. She was a member of the New Life Baptist Church in Wappapello and enjoyed gardening and sewing.
She was married to Leffie E. Ward on April 21, 1936, in Wappapello. He preceded her in death on June 13, 1986.
Surviving are one son and spouse, Carroll and Shelby Ward of Puxico; two daughters and spouses, Barbara and David Lafferty of Alton, Illinois and E. Joyce and Jim Johnson of Poplar Bluff; by four grandchildren, Del Ward, Jimmy Johnson, Brad Lafferty, Julie McFarland; four great-grandchildren, Chris Ward, Andrew Lafferty, Jena Lafferty, Matthew McFarland; and two great great grandchildren, Carson Ward and Maddalyn Ward.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Nellie Benhoff, two brothers, Elmer C. Lincoln, B. Frank Lincoln; a grandson, Jonathan Johnson and great great grandson, Jonathan Johnson.
Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m., Friday, March 30, 2012, from at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 31, 2012, at the Watkins and Sons Chapel in Puxico with Chaplain Brad Lafferty of St. Charles, Missouri and Rev. Kenneth Lambert of Bloomfield, Missouri officiating.
Interment will be in Puxico Cemetery in Puxico, Missouri with Watkins and Sons Funeral Service of Puxico in charge of arrangements.Jannis "Jan" Campbell, daughter of the late Albert Lavern and Virginia Evelyn Harralston Halterman, was born in Sikeston, Missouri, on October 16, 1951, and passed away at her home in Parma, Missouri on March 28, 2012, at the age of 60 years, 5 months and 12 days.
Mrs. Campbell had lived in St. Louis and Lilbourn before moving to Parma 40 years ago. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Parma. She enjoyed working in her flower beds, working jigsaw puzzles and playing with her grandchildren.
On August 27, 1971, she was married to Gary Campbell in Parma, Missouri.
Surviving are her husband, Gary Campbell of Parma; three daughters, Cindy Reynolds of Parma, Becky Campbell of Scott City, Sarah Trammell of Campbell; six grandchildren, Austin and Nicholas Reynolds of Parma, Harley, Bryleigh, Jarred and Michael, Jr. Trammell all of Campbell; one brother, Ray Halterman of Parma; and one sister, Mary Ann Darrow of Belleville, Illinois. Other family and friends also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a niece, Angela Sue Byrd, and a nephew, Ira Martin "Marty" Bartlett.
Visitation will be held on from 5 until 8 p.m., Friday, March 30, 2012 at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Parma.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, March 31, 2012, in the Watkins and Sons Chapel in Parma, with Bro. Bud Mays of Malden, officiating.
Interment will be in Mounds Cemetery near New Madrid, with Watkins and Sons Funeral Service of Parma in charge of arrangements.
Pauline Levart, daughter of the late Paul Parker and Vivian Hunt Patterson was born on June 26, 1940 in Dexter, Missouri and departed this life on March 28, 2012 at her residence in Dexter at the age of 71 years
Mrs. Levart attended the First General Baptist Church in Bloomfield, Missouri, a homemaker, former employee of Elders Manufacturing, and co-owner of Malden Lime Company.
On December 28, 1957 she was united in marriage to Homer Ray Levart in Hernando, Mississippi. Mr. Levart preceded her in death on May 13, 2011.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Cary G. Levart and Vanita of Essex; by two daughters and son-in-laws, Karen S. Griffin and Wade of Bloomfield, and Carla E. Darnell and Pete of Jacksoni; by four grandchildren, Cody Levart, Justin Darnell, Summer Griffin, and Clay Darnell; one great-grandson, Carson Williams; and by one sister Linda Williams.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one half-brother, William Paterson.
Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 5until 8: p.m. Sunday, April 1, 2012. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Monday, April 2, 2012 in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Kevin Eskew officiating. Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
James Raymond Jones, was born on October 22, 1925 at Wylie, Texas and departed this life in the Crowley Ridge Care Center on March 29, 2012 at the age of 86.
Mr. Jones was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He had lived in Texas from 1925 through 1999 and was a current resident of Dexter.
He was united in marriage to his wife, Pauline, on February 20, 1999. Mrs. Jones survives of the home near Dexter.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter and son in law, Rhonda and Bill Richter of Houston, Texas: by one daughter in law, Sandy Jones of Houston, Texas: by five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 31, 2012 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Dexter with Tom Kelsey officiating.
