
Mrs. Dowdy was a member of the Pleasant Grove Community Church at Pyletown, a home-maker and resident of rural Dexter,
She was united in marriage to Asa Dowdy on May 18, 1933 at Bloomfield. Mr. Dowdy preceded her in death on December 31, 1996.
She is survived by two sons, Asa Dowdy Jr. of Fairbanks, Alaska and John Dowdy and wife Phyllis of Dexter: by one daughter, Judi Hausner and husband Ray of Webb, Mississippi: by one brother, Robert Moore of Dawson Springs, Kentucky: by two sisters, Aileen York of Dexter and Adell Eagle of Conway, Arkansas: by eleven grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Gary Joe Dowdy and David Dowdy: by one granddaughter, Heather Dowdy: by four brothers, Raymond Moore, Roy Moore, Floyd Moore and Edwin Wooley: by three sisters, Mildred Taylor, Shirley Stegall and Ruth Young.
Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., Wednesday, December 28, 2011. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Thursday, December 29, 2011 in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Tom Potter officiating.
Interment will follow in the Armstead Dowdy Cemetery.
Dorothy Whitehead, daughter of the late James Allen Whitehead and Forest Margaret Grayum Whitehead was born on May 18, 1927 at Bernie and departed this life in The Villa’s at DeSoto, Missouri on December 24, 2011 at the age of 84.
Mrs. Whitehead was a homemaker, a resident of Festus, formerly of Bernie.
She was united in marriage to Raymond Whitehead on June 26, 1946 at Piggott, Arkansas. Mr. Whitehead survives of the home.
Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Sandra Bannister of Farmington and Cathy Schanz of Festus; by five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Aline Whitehead.

Bobby Lee Gordon, son of the late Lester Gordon and Irene Markland Gordon was born on December 16, 1932 in Dexter and departed this life in his residence at Dexter on December 26, 2011 at the age of 79.
Mr. Gordon was a former truck driver for Gibson Lime Company in Dexter, a veteran of the United States Army and a resident of Dexter.
He was united in marriage to Rosie Conner on July 2, 1951 at Piggott, Arkansas. Mrs. Gordon preceded him in death on July 21, 2010.
He is survived by two sons, Glenn Gordon of Clarkton and Danny Gordon of Cameron, North Carolina; by one daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Rod Brillhart of Dexter; by one brother, Jimmy Gordon of Dexter;: by four sisters, Jeannie Pry and Mary Jo Skaggs both of Bloomfield, Norma Taylor of Sikeston and Glenda Sue Koser of Jacksonville, Arkansas; and by five grandchildren and four great-grandchildrena and two special friends, David and Ramona Looney.

Interment will follow in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at BloomfieldPat Cross, son of the late James Thomas and Viola Gann Cross, was born in Bernie, Missouri on September 8, 1928, and passed away at his home in Bernie, Missouri on December 25, 2011 at the age of 83.
Pat lived most all his life in Bernie. Pat and his family lived in Chicago for 20 years where he worked for Meyers Material. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers. Pat served in the US Army during WWII and was a member of the Christian Church in Bernie.
In 1951 Pat was married to Rose Marie Kubisch she preceded him in death in 1970. He is survived by two daughters: Deborah Martin of Killeen, Texas and Pamela Cross of Nash Port, Ohio; by three grandchildren, Christopher Waugh, Jennifer Clark, Michelle Gilmore and five great-grandchildren Tommy Waugh, Brandon, Dylan Clark, Conner, Mikaela Gilmore. One sister: Emma Jean James of Bernie, Missouri. Other relatives and many friends also survive. He was preceded in death by four brothers.
Visitation will be Wednesday, December 28, 2011, after 10 a.m., at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 28, 2011, at 1 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. John Adams of Dexter, Missouri officiating.
Interment will be in the Bernie Cemetery in Bernie, Missouri with MIlitary Honors.
Robert Lynn “BOB” Foushee, son of the late Joseph Boyce “J.B.” Foushee and Jane Lucille Sharp Foushee was born on January 11, 1950 at Gideon, Missouri and departed this life in his residence at St. Peters, Missouri on December 21, 2011 at the age of 61.
Bob had a faith in God, was a former accountant, was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan since 1957, having attended many baseball games and World Series games that the Cardinals participated in. He had an extensive St. Louis Cardinal memorabilia library that dated back to the early days of the Cardinals. He was also a fan of the St. Louis Rams. He was a graduate of Dexter Senior High School and a former resident of Dexter.
He is survived by his brother, David Boyce Foushee of Cape Girardeau; by his sister and brother-in-law, Mayme Jo Nelson and Robert of Richardson, Texas; by three nephews, Rob Nelson, Kenny Nelson and Justin Foushee; by two nieces, Joy Nelson, Courtney Rogan and husband, Andrew; by his step mother, Judy Foushee of Bloomfield.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother in infancy, Joseph Boyce Foushee Jr.
