John Dee Brown Jr

John Dee Brown Jr., son of John Dee Brown Sr. and Ora Dean Hanback Brown both of Dexter, was born on March 13, 1953 in Great Falls, Montana and died on December 15, 2011 at the Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter at the age of 58.

He was a Veteran of the United States Navy serving during the Vietnam era and was a resident of Dexter.

On December 15, 2001 he was united in marriage to Misty Moomaw in Danville, Indiana.  Mrs. Brown survives of their home in Dexter.

Besides his wife and parents he is survived by two sons, Joshua Brown of Essex, Missouri and Jarred Brown of Dexter, Missouri; by two daughters, Whysper Copeland of Ellsinore, Missouri and Christina Schram of South Bend, Indiana; by two brothers, Michael Brown of Columbus, Ohio and David Brown of Huntsville, Alabama and by seven grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Monday, December 19, 2011 from Noon until 1:30 p.m..  A grave-side service will be conducted on Monday, December 19, 2011 at 2 p.m., in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.

Dale Tolbert

Dale Tolbert, son of the late Orbe and Minnie Mae Malone, was born in Bloomfield, Missouri on April 19, 1928, and passed away at the Missouri State Veterans Home in St. Louis, Missouri on December 13, 2011 at the age of 83.

Dale lived in St. Louis for many years where he worked for Carter Carburetor. After retirement he and his wife moved to Puxico where they lived for several years. Dale attended church at the Baptist church in Puxico. Dale served in the US Navy during WWII.

On October 22, 1984 Dale was married to Lilly Pearl Adams in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. She preceded him in death in 2008.

He is survived by one brother: Sonny Tolbert of O'Fallon, Missouri and one sister: Wyona Snider of Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Other relatives and many friends also survive. He was preceded in death by two sisters: Frona Pruitt and Cleta Rickert..

Visitation will be Friday, December 16, 2011, after 10 a.m., at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 16, 2011, at 12 p.m., at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Gene Lancaster of Risco, Missouri officiating.

Interment will be in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.

Geneva Eva Fortner, daughter of the late Sherman Edward and Dona Mae Christian Fortner, was born in Poplar Bluff, Missouri on April 9, 1925, and passed away at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on December 12, 2011, at the age of 86 years.

Mrs. Fortner had lived in the Advance area all her life except a brief time when she lived in St. Louis, Missouri. She was a member of Pleasant Valley Church in Dexter, Missouri.

Surviving are her daughter, Nondus Fortner Wooden of Raymondville, Missouri. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one brother.

Funeral Services will be announced at a later date with Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Missouri in charge of arrangements.

Juli Hunt, daughter of Robert Paddock of Kennett and the late Wanda Fowlkes Paddock was born on August 31, 1972 at Sikeston and departed this life in the Barnes-Jewish Hospital at St. Louis on December 12, 2011 at the age of 39.

Juli was a Registered Nurse at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center working on the Medical Surgery Floor and a resident of Dexter.

She was united in marriage to Ronald Hunt on September 27, 2003 at Dexter. Ronald survives of the home in Dexter.

Besides her, she is survived by one daughter, Rylee Hunt of the home: by her father and step-mother, Robert and Pat Paddock of Kennett: by one brother, Jeffrey Paddock and wife Patty of Malden: by one her sister in law, Jana Paddock of Bernie: by two nieces, Holly King and Crystal Buffaloe both of Columbia: by her father in law, Fred Hunt of Dexter.

Besides her mother, she was preceded in death by one brother, Jim Paddock: by her maternal grandparents, James and Louise Fowlkes: by her paternal grandparents, Freeman and Audrey Paddock.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 1 until 3 p.m., Wednesday, December 14, 2011.  Funeral services will then be conducted at 3 p.m., in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter.  Interment will follow in the Hagy Cemetery.

Nancy Rankins

Nancy Rankins, daughter of the late Vernal M. Jones and Edith E. Perry Jones was born on February 3, 1941 in Rock County, Wisconsin and departed this life at the Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on December 11, 2011 at the age of 70 years.

Mrs. Rankins enjoyed crafting, painting, country music, knitting, puzzles, and crocheting. Nancy loved drinking coffee and spending time with her husband in the morning. She was a resident of Dexter, Missouri.

          

She was united in marriage to Ray Rankins Sr. in 1959 in Beloit, Wisconsin.  Mr. Rankins survives of the home in Dexter.

Besides her husband, survivors include one son Ray (Chris) Rankins Jr. of Dexer; by one daughter, Nancee Rae Rankins Scharine of Afton, Wisconsin; by two brothers, Richard Jones and Michael Jones both of Brodhead, Wisconsin; one sister, Donna Jones Brady of Arleta, California; also by eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Jerry Jones, Ronald Jones, and James Jones; by one sister, Patrica Jones Groth.

No services will be held at this time for Mrs. Rankins with Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home conducting arrangements.
