Alta Plunkett

Alta Plunkett, daughter of the late Lawrence Wade Duvall and Zettie Virden Duvall was born on December 6, 1924 at Atkins, Arkansas and departed this life in her residence at Williamsville on November 12, 2011 at the age of 86.

Mrs. Plunkett was a member of the White Oak General Baptist Church near Bernie, a home-maker and a resident of Williamsville formerly of Dexter.

She was united in marriage to Paul Lee Plunkett on December 25, 1945 at Atkins,  Arkansas.  Mr. Plunkett preceded her in death on April 24, 1975.

She is survived by three sons, Carroll Lee Plunkett of Springfield, Illinois, Larry Wayne Plunkett of Jackson and Richard Darrell Plunkett of Williamsville: by three daughters, Francis E. Plunkett of Williamsville, Mildred Nesbeth of Arnold and Amanda Stoner of Poplar Bluff: by three brothers, Forest Duvall of Bay, Arkansas, Doyle Duvall and Jerry Duvall both Marked Tree, Arkansas: by two sisters, Geraldine Hawkins of Marked Tree, Arkansas and Nancy Grogan of Jonesboro, Arkansas: by fourteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Paul Wade Plunkett: by two brothers, Virgil Duvall and Earl Duvall: by four sisters, Gladys Russell, Hollis Russell, Erma Duvall and Nina Duvall.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 12 noon until 1 p.m., Tuesday, November 15, 2011.  Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m., in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Eddie Hawkins and Rev. Nathan Coleman officiating.  Interment will follow in the Sycamore Cemetery.
