The Jackson Lady Indians didn’t ‘come in peace’ when they hosted the Dexter Lady Bearcats on Thursday afternoon - the Indians were on the war path.
In Dexter’s first road match in three weeks, the Lady Indians were able to skunk the Lady ‘Cats in the varsity-only match, ending Dexter’s five-match win streak that included wins over Farmington, Notre Dame, and Poplar Bluff.
The middle of Dexter’s lineup provided the most competitive matches of the day - Shanna Gant (No. 3) and Erica Morgan (No. 4). Gant dropped an 8-4 match against Katelyn Kuppart, and Morgan fell 8-6 to Lucy Kunz.
The Lady Bearcats, now 7-3 on the season, will travel to Farmington on Saturday to participate in a tournament, and will be back in regular-season action again on Monday, when they hit the road to face off against the Kennett Indians, who defeated the ‘Cats 6-3 earlier in the season.
The match against Kennett is set to get underway at 4:00 p.m.
