Mary Bessie Woodruff

Mary Bessie Woodruff, daughter of the late Ira Purcell and Alta Riddle Purcell, was born February 2, 1922 in Dexter and departed this life on July 15, 2011 at the Golden Living Center in Dexter at the age of 89.
Mrs. Woodruff was affiliated with the United Pentecostal Church in Dexter, a home maker and a resident of Dexter.
On March 17, 1939 she was united in marriage to Robert Harold Woodruff in Dexter. Mr. Woodruff preceded her in death on July 11, 1996.
Mrs. Woodruff is survived by one daughter, Linda Wallace and husband Donald of Hartland, Michigan; by four grandchildren, Julie Jackson, Cherie Ives, Becky Bolitho, and Matthew Wallace, 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Billy Gene Woodruff; by one daughter, Shirley Cobb; by two sisters, Mildred McCoy and Ellen Pullum; and by four grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 5 until 8 p.m., Sunday, July 17, 2011. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, July 18, 2011 at 10:30 a.m., in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bill Burke officiating. Interment will follow in the Hagy Cemetery.
