John K. Harmon
John K. Harmon, son of the late Walker C. and Mabel C. Wood Harmon, was born in Puxico, Missouri on September 5, 1941, and passed away at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on May 29, 2011, at the age of 69 years, 8 months and 24 days.

He had lived most of his life in Puxico, Missouri and graduated from the Puxico High School in 1959. He was a member of the Puxico United Methodist Church. He had worked as a master tool and die maker. He enjoyed golf, flying his remote controlled helicopter and camping with friends. He most enjoyed his trips to visit his grandchildren in Texas and the Carolinas.

On July 10, 2000, he was married to Dianna Brown in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.

Surviving are his wife, Dianna Harmon of Puxico, Missouri; one son and daughter in law, Bryan & Mandy Harmon of Rock Hill, South Carolina; two daughters, Alicia McCormick of Rock Hill, South Carolina, Laura Coon of Fort Worth, Texas; six grandchildren, Tyler, Trevor, Megan, Kyndle, Hailey and Kendall; one sister, Maryann Coutavas of Puxico, Missouri; one nephew, Norman Ogles; and one niece, Kina Coutavas. Other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by two brothers, William "Bill" Harmon and Bobby Harmon.

Visitation will be Friday, June 3, 2011, after 5:00 PM at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 4, 2011, at 11:00 AM at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Puxico with the Rev. Dennis Doublin and Rev. Norman Ogles both of Puxico, Missouri officiating.

Interment will be in the Puxico Cemetery in Puxico, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the Puxico First United Methodist Church, P O Box 68, Puxico, Missouri 63960.

Donald Lemmons, son of the late Earl Lemmons and Iva Moore Lemmons, was born on October 29, 1936 in Dexter, Missouri and passed away on May 31, 2011 at the Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at the age of 74 years.

Mr. Lemmons was a retired veteran of the United States Navy serving in the Vietnam War as an Electronic Technician. He was a member of the Risen Church in Dexter and a resident of Dexter.

On December 26, 1960 he was united in marriage to Melba Ramsey in Dexter, Missouri. Mrs. Lemmons survives of the home in Dexter.

Besides his wife survivors include two sons, Michael Lemmons of Brownstown, Michigan and Joshua Lemmons of Dexter; two daughters, Debbie Abeel of Ramona, California and Kathy Daniel of Dexter; also by seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, John Kramer.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 12:30 until 2 p.m., Thursday June 2, 2011. Funeral services will then be conducted at 2 p.m., Thursday June 2, 2011 in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Joshua Carpenter officiating. Interment will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield, Missouri with full Military Honors.

Memorials can be made to the Risen Church in Dexter, Liberty Hill Cancer Fund, or 18 Fore Life. Envelopes will be provided in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home office.

Linda Veniece Miller, daughter of the late Elmer Lewallen and Nettie “Jane” Rhodes Lewallen, was born on February 9, 1951in Jonesboro, Arkansas and departed this life on May 25, 2011 at the Golden Living Center in Bloomfield at the age of 60.

Mrs. Miller was a home-maker and resident of Bloomfield formerly of Cape Girardeau.

She was united in marriage to Clyde Miller in Poplar Bluff and he preceded her in death on December 31, 1987.

She is survived by two daughters, Cara Hill and husband Bryce and Sara Pounds and husband Phil all of Dexter; by two step-daughters, Debbie Sipult of Sikeston and Sherry Bochmand from the State of Texas; by one sister, Marilyn Cook of Chaffee; by nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one step-son Clyde Allen Miller and by one brother, Ricky Lewallen.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Friday, May 27, 2011 from 12 - 2 p.m. Funeral services will then be conducted on Friday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Kevin Eskew officiating. Interment will follow in the Puxico Cemetery.

Doyle Cronan
Doyle Cronan was born June 18, 1947 in Portageville, Missouri, the son of Edna Mae Davis and Bob Kyle Cronan. He passed away on May 25, 2011 at his home in Concord, Missouri at the age of 63 years, 11 months and 7 days.

He was united in marriage to Bettie Ruth Bell of Hayti, Missouri on March 25, 1971. From this union, a son, Doyle Kyle Cronan was born. Doyle also was the proud second father to Linda kay Ritcheson (Butler), Sara Elizabeth Ritcheson (Young) and Robert Lee Ritcheson.

Doyle was someone who loved to help people. In additon to being employed at the University of Missouri Delta Center for over 30 years, he also served 20 plus years in the Missouri National Guard, The United States Army in Vietnam and Operation Desert Storm,the U.S. Department of Commerce and the United States of America with numerous commendations.

Preceding him death were his father, Bob Kyle Cronan and one brother, Walter Scott. He leaves the following to cherish his memories: his mother, Edna Mae Cronan of Concord, MO, His children: Ms. Linda Ritcheson (Butler) of Dyersburg, TN, Mr. Kyle Cronan of St. Louis, MO, Ms. Sarah Ritcheson (Young) of Elizabethtown, Ky, Mr. Robert Ritcheson of Concord, MO. Two brothers: Alfred Scott of Almo, TN, James Cronan of Concord, MO. Two sisters: Alice ritcheson of Concord, MO, Joy Hoffmeister of Jackson, MO, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of other dear relatives and friends

Visitation will be held from 6 - 9 p.m., Friday, May 27 t the DeLisle Funeral Home in Portageville. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 28 at the Dry Bayou Church in Portageville.

Eva Mae Dowdy, daughter of the late Leslie Payne and Lorene Triplett Payne, was born on January 31, 1932 in Shawnee Town, Illinois and departed this life at her residence in Dexter on May 25, 2011 at the age of 79.

Mrs. Dowdy was a member of the Risen Church in Dexter, was a volunteer at the O.A.K.S. Senior Center, was a former employee of Elders Manufacturing, a former custodian at the First Baptist Church in Dexter and a resident of Dexter.

She was united in marriage to Wendall Dowdy on November 29, 1952 in Piggott, Arkansas. Mr. Dowdy preceded her in death on April 7, 2008.

She is survived by two sons, Larry Lee Dowdy of Fulton and Jimmy Glen Dowdy and wife Carla of Dexter; by one daughter, Kathy Jean Roberts and husband Michael of Evansville, Indiana; by one sister, Joann Patterson of Columbia; by five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Shirley Simpson.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 5 - 8 p.m., Friday, May 27, 2011. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 28, 2011 in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Joshua Carpenter officiating. Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
