Naomi Stewart
Naomi Stewart, daughter of the late James Odus Wiggs and Myrl Blackman Wiggs was born on January 3, 1927 at the Sugar Tree community and departed this life on April 16, 2011 in the Southeast Hospital at Cape Girardeau at the age of 84.

Mrs. Stewart was a life-long member of the Sugar Tree General Baptist Church where she served as church secretary, the former Administrative Office Manager for the Missouri Probation and Parole, a volunteer for Preferred Hospice, a member of the OAKS Senior Choir, a member of the Council of Association of the General Baptist Denomination and a resident of Dexter.

She was united in marriage to Raymond F. Stewart on May 10, 1952 near Dexter. Mr. Stewart preceded her in death on February 23, 2002. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Rev. Rayla and Rev. Dr. James V. Hogue of Clarksburg, Missouri: by one step-daughter, Lillian Snavely of Ozark: by three brothers, J.D. Wiggs of Springfield, John Wiggs of Moberly and Rev. Dr. Glen F. Wiggs of Independence: by one sister, Lois Roberts of Dexter: by one grandson, James Stewart Hogue: by five great-grandchildren, Terry Snavely, Cheryl Hart, Joy Mitchell, Matt Snavely and Lori Wassam.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Suzanne Stewart: by one brother, Chalmer W. Wiggs: by one sister, Doris Wiggs Dorris.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home from 5 until 8 p.m., Monday, April 18, 2011. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 19, 2011 in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Joe Ogelvie officiating. Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
