Frances Irene Farmer, daughter of the late John William Richard and Kathren Frank Richard was born on May 31, 1938 at Cairo, Illinois and departed this life in the St. John’s Mercy Hospital at Washington, Missouri on March 11, 2011 at the age of 72.

Mrs. Farmer was a member of the Pentecostal Worship Center in St. Clair, a home-maker, a resident of St. Clair, formerly of Dexter.

She was united in marriage to Robert Burdette Farmer on February 27, 1954 at Dexter. Mr. Farmer preceded her in death on February 11, 1996.

She is survived by two sons and daughter-in-laws: Robert and Judy Farmer, Charles and Jeanie Farmer all of St. Clair: by one daughter and son-in-law, Vickey and Matt VanNess of St. Clair: by one brother, Carl “COTTON” Richard of Dexter: by six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Randy Farmer; by four brothers, James Richard, Odis Jerry Richard, John Henry Richard and Willi Gene Richard: by one sister, Nola May Johnson.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 5 until 8 p.m., Sunday, March 13, 2011. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m., Monday, March 14, 2011 in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Marcus Geuin and Rev. Joseph Geuin officiating. Interment will follow in the Caroline Dowdy Cemetery near Dexter.
