Jay Allen Parsley
Jay Allen Parsley, son of Allen and Pamela Campbell Parsley of Puxico, was born on March 8, 1971 at Granite City, Illinois and departed this life in the Southeast Hospital at Cape Girardeau on January 16, 2011 at the age of 39.

Jay was a member of the Duck Creek Baptist Church near Puxico where he served as Deacon, a Corporal in the Missouri State Highway Patrol a member of the Puxico Public Schools Board of Education and a resident of rural Puxico.

Jay was a devoted husband, father, son and brother. He loved to hunt and fish, especially with Emma and Tommy. He loved sports; playing basketball and coaching his kids ball teams. He was an avid Puxico Indians fan and loved being involved with the community. Most importantly he loved his family and church.

The bible says that we will know Christians by their love for one another. Not only did Jay show us what love looked like, he let us experience what love felt like.

He was united in marriage to Marcy Boswell on November 4, 1995 at Puxico. Mrs. Parsley survives of the home.

Besides his wife and parents, he is survived by one son, Tommy Parsley of the home: by one daughter, Emma Parsley of the home: by one brother, Jimmy Parsley and wife Jennifer of Puxico: by one sister, Jodi Walker and husband, John of Puxico: by his maternal grandparents, Herman and Colleen Campbell of Puxico: by his father and mother-in-law, Tom and Shirley Boswell of Puxico.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Donald and Mary Lou Parsley.

Friends may call at the Duck Creek Baptist Church after 3:00 P. M., Wednesday, January 19, 2011. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A. M., Thursday, January 20, 2011 at the Puxico High School Gymnasium with Rev. Phil Bray and Rev. David Edwards officiating. Interment will follow in the Duck Creek Cemetery.

A memorial fund is being set-up at the Bank of Advance for the Children of Jay Parsley. Envelopes will be provided by the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home, 125 West Stoddard Street, Dexter, Mo. 63841.



Directions to the Duck Creek Baptist Church are as follows: From Dexter, take Highway 60 west to WW (Dudley) turn-off. Go north 9.2 miles on WW. Turn left (West) on State Highway J. Go 1.2 miles on State Highway J and turn right on Stoddard County Road 483. Go a little over 3 miles and Church will be on the right.
