In Memory of Lisa Miller

Our forever child, Lisa Ranea Miller, 53, was born on March 24, 1964 to Cletis A. and Opal Wolpers Miller.  She passed away April 25, 2017 at her home in Dexter.

She leaves behind two sisters, and her caregivers; Janis Midgett of Dexter and Marilyn (Bo) Cartwright of Bloomfield, Missouri; by a niece, three nephews, five great nieces, two great nephews and two great-great nephews.  She also leaves a dedicated in service aide, Emily Lashley who loved and cared for her for seventeen years.  Her joyful smile and mischief filled eyes will be missed by her family and friends.

Lisa was preceded in death by her parents; by one sister, Marcia Kay Miller; by one brother-in-law, David Midgett and her niece Amy Elizabeth Cartwright. 

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Saturday, April 29, 2017 from 10:00 A.M. until 11:30 A.M.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 11:30 A.M. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Steve Tippen officiating. 

In lieu of flowers the family requests all memorials be made to the St. Judes Children’s Research Hospital;501 St Jude Place; Memphis, TN 38105-9959.

In Memory of Linda Lucy England

Linda "Lucy" England of Dexter, daughter of the late William Henry and Silva Irene Triplett Harper, was born June 20, 1934 in Idalia, Missouri and passed away at her home in Dexter on April 25, 2017, at the age of 82 years 10 months and 5 days.

She had lived in Dexter all of her life. She had worked as a side seamer at Elders Manufacturing for forty-two years until her retirement.

On December 22, 1951, she married Floyd Gene England in Dexter, Missouri. He preceded her in death on November 4, 1999.

Surviving are two daughters & spouse, Linda & Bill Courter and Jean Ann England both of Dexter; five grandchildren & spouses, Jeannie & Rich Jones, Lori & Kevin Stephens, Sonja & Jason Shafer, Amanda & Scott Moore, Summer Gallardo; twelve great grandchildren, Cody, Landon, Travis, Kobie, Ericka, Dawson, Luke, Brooklyn, Daisy, Sophie, Elizabeth and Shyla; and one great great granddaughter, Ember; and special friend, William Perkins of Dexter. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Evert Chester Harper and William Joe Harper; and two sisters, Annie Alice Duley and Imogene Shipman.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 28, 2017, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 28, 2017 at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 28, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Tim Russell of Dexter officiating.

Interment will held at the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.

In Memory of David Griggs

David Griggs, 22, of Dexter, formerly of Anniston, died April 22, 2017, in Stoddard County.  Born February 28, 1995, in Sikeston, to Daniel Griggs and Michelle Carter Griggs, Sr., who survive of Anniston, he was employed as a line worker for Tyson Foods.

In addition to his parents, survivors include:  his fiancé, April Farquhar of the home; one son, Cory Kinley of the state of Florida; three daughters, Tia Tidwell and Linda Tidwell, both of Anniston, and Alanna Tidwell of Dexter; one brother, Daniel Griggs Jr. of Anniston;  and one sister, Theresa Smith of Milan, Tennessee.

Visitation will be held from 5 - 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie.

Funeral services will be conducted at noon on Thursday, April 27, 2017, at Shelby Funeral Home, with Bro. Jimmy Griggs of Sikeston, officiating.

Interment will follow in the East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Kenny Evans, Brooks Griggs, Dustin Smith, Rodney Lee, Alvin Pollard and Timmy Carter.

Honorary pallbearers will be Daniel Griggs and Daniel Griggs, Jr.

In Memory of Robert Parrish

Robert Parrish, son of the late Homer D. Parrish and Dianie Ritchie Parrish was born on July 14, 1945 in New Madrid County, Missouri and departed this life on March 24, 2017 at his residence in Dexter at the age of 71 years.

Mr. Parrish was a former owner and operator of a Dump Truck in Dexter for many years and a resident of Dexter.

Survivors include four brothers, Jessie Lee Parrish of Attica, Indiana, Herman Parrish of Collin, Texas, Charles Parrish of Dexter, Terry Parrish of West Lafayette, Indiana; by three sisters, Freda Huddleston of Bloomfield, Missouri, Betty Jordan of New Roads, Louisiana and Connie Albert of Linden, Indiana.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill Parrish and Larry Parrish; by one sister, Helen Richardson.

Memorial service will be held on April 22, 2017 at 6:00 PM in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter.  Rainey-Mathis Funeral home in charge of  all arrangements.

In Memory of Jackie Alberson

Jackie Alberson of Essex, daughter of the late Jack and Ida Mae Goodman Eaton, was born July 11, 1936, in Pochahontas, Arkansas and passed away at the Chaffee Nursing Center in Chaffee on April 21, 2017, at the age of 80 years, 9 months and 10 days.

She had lived in Essex all of her life. She had worked as a seamstress at the Paramount Hat Factory and was a member of the Harvest Assembly of God Church in Essex. She enjoyed reading, crocheting and was very active in her church.

On February 22, 1969, she married Verdene Alberson. He preceded her in death on September 19, 1997.

Surviving are one daughter, Karen Auner of Jackson, Missouri; one son, Tim Lacey of Essex, Missouri; two grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by six brothers and sisters.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, April 24, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri with Rev. Dale Jones of Dexter officiating.

Interment will follow at the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
