Irene L. Hinman

Irene L. Hinman, daughter of the late Luther Sifford and Nancy Horton Sifford was born on April 9, 1920 in Bernie, Missouri and departed this life on June 6, 2013 at Cypress Point Skilled Nursing in Dexter, Missouri at the age of 93 years.

Mrs. Hinman was a homemaker, a member of the Dexter Church of Christ and a resident of Dexter.

On September 5, 1937, she was united in marriage to Durwood Hinman in Kelso, Missouri.  Mr. Hinman preceded her in death on January 5, 1995.

Survivors include one son, Larry Hinman and wife Connie of Dexter; by four grandchildren, Ricki McCoy, Kelli Robinett, Russell Hinman, and Mark Hinman; also by six great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Clifton Hinman; by three brothers; five sisters and one great-grandson, Spencer Harrison Hinman.  She was the last survivor of nine brothers and sisters.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 9:30 A.M. until 11:00 A.M., Monday, June 10, 2013. 

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, June 10, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. with Larry Hinman and Gary Hicks officiating.  Interment will follow in the Essex Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial donations be made to Children’s Homes, 5515 Old Walcott Road, Paragould, Arkansas 72450-9983.

Jefferson City, Missouri - Robert M. Hunter, who served longer than any other Chief Engineer in the 100-year history of the Missouri Department of Transportation, died on Monday in Jefferson City. He was 92.



Hunter was chief engineer from 1970 until his retirement in 1985. In total, he spent 35 years with the department and his career largely spanned the time during which Missouri's interstate highway system was designed and constructed.

Beginning in 1950, after his graduation from the University of Missouri-Columbia, he worked as a highway designer, and later became the District 4 Engineer in Kansas City. He returned to Jefferson City as Engineer of Surveys and Plans; then became Assistant Chief Engineer for seven years prior to ascending to the Chief Engineer position.

He was one of four MoDOT chief engineers who served as president of the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials.



Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary in Jefferson City from 4-7 p.m., Thursday.

Visitation will also be from 9:30-10:30 a.m., Friday, at the First United Methodist Church, followed by funeral services.

Brandon Billingsley, son of Dale and Dolly Darnell Billingsley of Dexter, Missouri , was born on June 25, 1987 at Poplar Bluff, Missouri and departed this life on May 31, 2013 at his residence in Dexter at the age of 25 years

Brandon was a 2006 Graduate of Richland High School

Besides his parents, survivors include his companion, Amanda Lutes of Dexter; two sons, Mason and Levi of Dexter and by one daughter Jaydenn  of Dexter; by three brothers, Bobby Dale Billingsley, Brent Billingsley, and Bradley Billingsley all of Dexter; by his parental grandparents, Curt and Dixie Billingsley of Lowndes, Missouri; and by maternal grandfather, Lloyd Cullum of Bloomfield, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Anita Cullum and by his grandfather, George Darnell.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home of Tuesday June 4, 2013 from 9:30 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. 

Graveside services will be conducted on Tuesday June 4, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. in the Bluff Cemetery near Bloomfield, Missouri with Bro. Dale Rodgers and Bro. Jack Rodgers officiating.

James Aaron Davison
, son of Aaron L. Davison of DeSoto, Missouri  and the late Eunice Moran Davison, was born on May 24, 1945 in Portageville, Missouri and passed away on May 30, 2013 at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at the age of 68 years


Mr. Davison was a resident of Arnold, Missouri.  He retired from Chrysler Automotive in Fenton, Missouri.

 

On October 19, 1984, he was united in marriage to Debbie Maureen.  Mrs. Davison survives of the home.

 

In addition to his wife and father, he is survived by two sons, Aaron Davison and James Davison, both of Dexter, Missouri; by one daughter, Amanda Davison of Dexter, Missouri; by one sister, Dorothy Young of Hillsboro, Missouri; and by six grandchildren.

 

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Earl Davison and Roy Davison.

 

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Sunday, June 2, 2013 from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M.  Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, June 2, 2013at 1:00 P.M. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Tim Russell officiating.  Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.

Brad Locke was born on January 13, 1955, at Missouri Delta Community Hospital in Sikeston, Missouri.  He passed away at his home in Houston, Texas on May 26, 2013.

He is survived by his loving parents, Charles and Evelyn Locke of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; a brother, Christopher Blake Locke of Houston Texas; a sister, Linda Beth Foust and husband, Paul Foust, of St. Charles, Missouri; two daughters, Amy Marie Locke and fiancée, Patrick Loynes, and Allison Claire Locke, all of Houston, Texas; and their mother, Rebecca Locke.  He is also survived by one Aunt, Linda Kay Collier of Dexter, Missouri; one Uncle, James E. Long and wife, Joyce, of Dexter, Missouri; by twelve cousins; by many relatives, friends and co-workers.

 He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Russell and Delours Long and by his paternal grandparents, Jesse and Minta Locke.

 Brad received Jesus as his Savior at the age of ten years at the First General Baptist Church of Poplar Bluff.  When his family joined First Baptist Church, he was baptized by Brother John Gilbert on July 7, 1974.

 Brad attended O’Neal Grade School and was outstanding in track and basketball.  He was a star pitcher and third baseman in Little League baseball.  He played guard on the Poplar Bluff Mules High School basketball team for four years.  In high school, he took up golf.  On the golf team, he went to the state tournament all four years while winning the district individual title for two years.

 After graduating from high school, he received a full golf scholarship to Northwest Louisiana State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana.  He was a stand-out player for four years.  He and his brother won so many trophies his mother said she had them in every closet of the house.

 Brad was an all around person as he played coronet in the Poplar Bluff High School marching band.  He had an outstanding singing voice and loved to play the guitar.  He sang in the choir and played the guitar at the Metropolitan Baptist Church in Houston, Texas.

 After college graduation, he worked for Ivy Construction and Letsos Company in Houston, Texas as a Senior Project Manager.

 After moving to Houston, he and his family joined the First Baptist Church in Tomball, Texas but attended Metropolitan Baptist Church at the time of his death.

 Visitation will be held at the First Baptist Church in Poplar Buff, Missouri on Sunday, June 2, 2013, from 1:30 P. M. - 3:00 P. M. 

Services will follow at 3:00 P. M., with Dr. William Vail officiating.  Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.

 Family request Floral arrangements or Memorials to First Baptist Church Now and Forever Building Fund, 551 North Westwood, Poplar Bluff, Missouri, 63901.

 Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home of Dexter.
