Red Ribbon Week at Central Elementary in Dexter
October 20th 2014 by Dee Loflin
Red Ribbon Week at Central Elementary in Dexter
During the week of October 20-23, Central Elementary will be recognizing  Red Ribbon Week. Red Ribbon Week grew out of a movement to prevent drug use in honor of undercover Drug Enforcement Administration Agent Enrique Camarena, who was killed in 1985 by Mexican drug traffickers. Programs started in his hometown of Calexico, California and spread to other states. In 1988, the U.S. Congress officially proclaimed Red Ribbon Week. Our theme this year is:

A Happy Me is Drug Free!

Central is holding dress-up days to recognize this important week:

Monday: Wear Red Day
Tuesday: Pajama Day
Wednesday: Favorite Team Jersey/Shirt Day
Thursday: Crazy Sock Day
Friday: No School
