Kenneth D. Minton, son of the late Roy Minton and Sarah Meade Minton was born on February 19, 1930 at rural Dexter and departed this life in the Cypress Point Skilled Nursing Center on February 22, 2020 at the age of 90.
Mr. Minton was a member of the Pleasant Grove Community Church, he was the owner of Kenneth Minton Farms, a former board member of the Dexter Memorial Hospital, a former board member of First Midwest Bank and First Commercial Bank.
He loved cattle farming, old broken fences and chasing cows. He loved hunting ducks, geese and deer. He cleared thousands of wooded acres from Dudley to Powe. The office at Kenneth Minton Farms was affectionately known as “The Ranch”.
He was united in marriage to Revalee Barker on December 22, 1950 at Piggott, Arkansas. Mrs. Minton survives of the home in Dexter.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Ken Minton (Blanchie) of Dexter: by one daughter, Kay Barnes (Bobby) of Bernie: by three grandchildren, Michelle Barnes, Michael Barnes and Kyle Minton: by three great grandchildren, Hunter Barnes, Melissa Barnes and Adriana Minton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, by one son, Kenneth Dale Minton: by one granddaughter, Melissa Sue Barnes: by his brother, Keith Minton: by his sister, Aurellia Jennings.
Friends may call at the Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M, Tuesday, February 25, 2020.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A. M., Wednesday, February 26, 2020 in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Paul Pierce officiating.
Interment will follow in the Sycamore Cemetery.
