In Memory of Gerald Hurley

Gerald Hurley, son of the late Jesse Wheeler Hurley and Edna Lee Fullerton Hurley, was born in Steele, Missouri on March 5, 1934 and departed this life at his residence in Bernie, Missouri on March 12, 2018 at the age of 84.
Mr. Hurley was a United States Army Veteran, he later worked for Browns Construction until his retirement.
He was united in marriage to Annita Scales in Bernie, Missouri on July 26, 1954. Mrs. Hurley survives her husband in their home in Bernie.
Other survivors include two sons, Tim Hurley of Bernie, Missouri and Steven Hurley & fiancee Melissa McLard Of Bernie, Missouri; by one daughter, Cheryl Tischer & husband Paul of Bernie, Missouri; by two brothers, Glen Hurley of Malden, Missouri and Jim Hurley of Bloomfield, Missouri; by two sisters, Bonnie Beyer of Dexter, Missouri and Ruth Reed of Puxico, Missouri; by five grandchildren, Natasha, Taryn, TJ, Emilie and Kelsie; by seven great-grandchildren; also by other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death other than by his parents by one sister, Lois Mills.
Friends may call at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie, Missouri on Thursday, March 15, 2018 from 11:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M.
Funeral Services will then be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 15, 2018 in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Bernie.
Interment will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with Full Military Honors.

In Memory of Lois Charline DeJournett

Lois Charline DeJournett of Bloomfield, daughter of the late Hugh Dewitt and Imogene Rogers DeBerry, was born in Kennett, Missouri on October 24, 1949, and passed away at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on March 8, 2018, at the age of 68 years, 4 months and 12 days.
Mrs. DeJournett had lived in Bloomfield, Missouri most of her life. She enjoyed collecting dolls and her family.
On November 18, 1966, she was married to Terry Wayne DeJournett in Bloomfield, Missouri. He preceded her in death on August 22, 2013.
Surviving are three sons, Lannie Joe DeJournett of Potosi, Missouri, Marvin Hugh DeJournett of Bloomfield, Missouri, Aaron Joe DeJournett of Boonville, Missouri; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; three brothers, Hughie DeBerry of White Oak, Missouri, Danny DeBerry of Florida, Johnny DeBerry of Dexter, Missouri; one sister, Lafonda Correll of Florida. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one son, Clifton Wayne DeJournett.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 19, 2018, after 11:00 am at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield until time for graveside services at 1:00 pm at the Bloomfield Cemetery with the Rev. James Malloy of Essex officiating.
Interment will be at the Bloomfield Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Missouri in charge of arrangements.

In Memory of Robert Therman Sonny Arnold

Robert Therman "Sonny" Arnold, son of the late Robert and Leora Arnold, was born in Zalma, Missouri, on November 4, 1936, and passed away at the Westchester House in Chesterfield, Missouri on March 12, 2018, at the age of 81 years, 4 months and 8 days..
Robert had lived in St. Louis, Melbourne, Florida and Poplar Bluff before moving to Chesterfield 6 months ago. He had been an auto body specialist and mechanic, working out of the Machinist Hall #777. He enjoyed old cars and motorcycles.
Surviving are three daughters, Amy Cameron of O'Fallon, Missouri, Robin Adams of St. Charles, Missouri and Melany Ballard of O'Fallon, Missouri; five grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Carter of Puxico, Missouri and Wanda Ross of Melbourne, Florida. He was preceded in death by sisters, Grace Arnold, Bernice William, Muriel Wiseman, Hazel Landers, Betty Petty, and Avis Arnold, and brothers, Willard Arnold, Lowell Arnold and Bobby Joe Arnold.
Friends may call on Thursday March 15, 2018 after 10:30 a.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri until time of service at 12:00 p.m. in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Puxico, Missouri.
Interment will follow in the Bollinger County Memorial Gardens in Marble Hill, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico in charge of arrangements.

In Memory of Joe Kennard

Joe Kennard, son of the late Manion George Wilkerson Kennard and Margie Webb Kennard was born on June 30, 1944 at Peach Orchard, Missouri and departed this life on March 10, 2018 at the Miner Nursing Center in Miner, Missouri at the age of 73 years.
Mr. Kennard was the very best auto detailer in Southeast Missouri for over 45 years. He was a member of Dexter Church of Christ and a resident of Bertrand, Missouri.
Survivors include four sons, David Kennard of Russellville, Arkansas, Pete Kennard (Susan) and Todd Kennard (Tracey) all of Sikeston, Missouri; Tim Kennard (Candy) of Dexter, Missouri; by two daughters, Sharon Meyer (Larry) of Scott City, Missouri and Lisa Heuring (Darrell) of New Hamburg, Missouri; one brother, Frank Kennard of Springfield, Missouri, by fifteen grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren on the way.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four brother, A.J. Kennard, Ray Kennard, Shorty Kennard, and Charlie Kennard; by one sister Pauline Kennard.
Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Monday, March 12, 2018.
Funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter with Clyde Jacques officiating.
Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.

In Memory of Thomas Frank Dawson

Thomas Frank Dawson, son of Russell Dawson and Hester Horton Dawson, was born in Poplar Bluff, Missouri on July 21, 1947 and passed away at his home in Bernie on Friday, March 9, 2018 at the age of 70.
Mr. Dawson was a farmer and business owner. He was of the Christian Faith and a lifelong resident of Bernie.
He was united in marriage to Barbara Sides in Bernie on July 29, 1967.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Dawson and his son, Robert Dawson, both of Bernie. He is also survived by one sister and her husband: Joann and LeVaughn Smith of Helena, Arkansas; by four brothers and their wives: Jim and Norma Dawson of Bernie; Phil and Penny Dawson of Bernie; John and Carol Dawson of Columbiana, Ohio; and Bruce and Karen Dawson of Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends also mourn his passing.
Friends may call at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie, Missouri on Monday, March 12, 2018 from 10:30 until 1:00 P.M. Funeral services will then be conducted on Monday, March 12, 2018 in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Bernie at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Dave Fowler officiating. Interment will follow in Bernie Cemetery. Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home of Bernie in charge of all arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the Stoddard County Meals on Wheels; to the Stoddard County Children’s Home; to the Bernie United Methodist Church; to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation; or to a charity of choice.
