USDA Extends Summer Foods Program at Dexter Public Schools

From Dexter Public Schools

Exciting Announcement!!  Free Meals!!

The USDA has announced they will extend the summer foods program into the fall to provide a free breakfast, lunch, and snack to all students through the month of December or until there is no longer funding for the federal program.  If the funding changes, we will provide this information to families as quickly as possible.

We have been told this program will be retroactive to September 1st.  Any charges will be credited to your students lunch account and any payments made will be credited for future use on a lunch balance.

The free meal does not include any ala carte items.  They will continue to be available at the high school for cash purchase only.

We are so happy to implement this program beginning with free meals on Tuesday, September 8th and introducing snacks on Monday, September 14th.

Thank you,

Amy James
