First Baptist Church of Puxico Offers Back to School Fair

Puxico, MO - The First Baptist Church of Puxico is excited to offer a Back-To-School Fair for students Pre-K - 12th grade on Saturday, August 21, 2021 from 8 a.m. - noon.

They have also planned FREE sports physicals, hair cuts, school supplies and more!

Nurse Mallory from Puxico School will be on site to answer any questions and update student shot records.  Parents are encouraged to bring any new immunization records and she will collect them from you at the Back-to-School Fair.

24th Annual St. Patrick's Ecumenical Corned Beef & Cabbage Event

Dexter, MO - The 24th Annual St. Patrick's Ecumenical Corned Beef & Cabbage Event will take place Thursday, March 18, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. and will be held as a Drive-Thru Event only.

You can pick-up your meals at the Sacred Heart Parish Center located at 102 East Castor Street in Dexter.

Please call ahead for large orders to 573.614.0340. Checks can be made out to Ecumenical CBC Meal.

Just remember they will be following COVID-19 guidelines so please wear a mask when picking up your order.  The Country Store and Raffle will continue next year.

The meal will consist of corned beef & cabbage, parsleyed potatoes, cornbread and dessert and the cost is $8.00 per meal.

Lighthouse Church Recruiting Bell Ringers

The Lighthouse Church is once again recruiting "Bell Ringers" for the Christmas holiday season.  They need bell ringers for shifts beginning at 9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday from now until December 24th.

There will be two kettles at the Wal-Mart store in Dexter at each entrance.

The shifts may be one or two hour increments.  Any church, business, or organization may fill one whole day, the same day every week, or any open shift.  Each business or organization is welcome to bring an 8 1/2 x 11 sign and or wear their logo advertisement clothing.

They will provide a sign that will be laminated and taped to the kettle stand.  Two bells will be provided and if you need more please bring them.  No more than five people are allowed at each kettle.  You can sing carols and wear your best smile (under your mask) and wish those who give a Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays!

85% of all money collected will be allocated through the Salvation Army vouchers to help the residence of Stoddard County.

Last year's drive was the best year to date.

8th Annual Prayer Walk for Dexter Schools Held on Sunday

Dexter, MO - The 8th Annual Prayer Walk for Dexter School District was held on Sunday, August 23, 2020.  It has already been quite a year with COVID-19 still affecting the country.  With so much uncertainty it was especially important for those who participated to pray for the school, the administrators, teachers, staff, and students.

About 60 people attended and walked the campus stopping to pray at each building.

5th Annual Prayer Walk for Bloomfield School District Date Set

5th Annual Prayer Walk at Bloomfield Schools, Tuesday, August 25 at 6:00 p.m.  

All who believe in the power of prayer are invited.  

Meet in HS Gym parking lot for opening prayer.  

Then we will walk the perimeter of the campus praying silently.  Afterwards, you are invited  to kneel or place a hand on specific buildings praying for the staff and students for the upcoming year. 

All ages encouraged to come. If you are unable to walk benches are available. Please keep social distancing in mind.
