All Hallows' Eve Worship Service at First United Methodist Church
Dexter, Missouri - Join First United Methodist Church on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 from 9 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. for a special All Hallows' Eve Worship Service.

"We will be remembering great Christians throughout history, and remembering those who have died in the past year," commented Ron Beaton, Pastor at First United Methodist Church.  "This year's service will feature members of the Southeast Missouri Jazz Band, a cellist, and the First UMC Choir."

All Saints Day is a church festival that recalls the faith and witness of the women and men who have gone before us. This worship service celebrates our continuing communion with them and memorializes the recently deceased. The early church followed the Jewish custom that a new day began at sundown; thus, feasts and festivals in the church were observed beginning on the night before. The night before All Saints (or All Hallows) became known as All Hallows Eve or Halloween.

Dexter First United Methodist Church is located at 501 South Walnut Street, Dexter, Missouri.  The public is encouraged to attend this open event.
