First Christian Church Evening Ladies Deliver Easter Dinners

Dexter, Missouri - Easter dinners were delivered to the Stoddard County Gospel Mission today.  The dinners will be distributed to 100 families in the community.

When this project first began, 25 dinners were completed and the project has continued to grow to now 100 dinners!

The dinners include boxes of macaroni and cheese, cake mix, frosting, cans of corn and green beans along with a ham, potatoes, dinner rolls, and of course a special treat - Easter candy!

The project is made possible through the work of the Evening Ladies group of the First Christian Church in Dexter.  They host an annual Cookie Walk and a Kettle Beef Dinner to help raise monies to purchase the foods.  What a wonderful way to give back to the community!

Pre-K Sunday School Class Raising Money for Lottie Moon Christmas Offering

Dexter, Missouri - The Pre-K Sunday school Class at the First Baptist Church in Dexter has a big Christmas wish.  They have set a goal to raise $1,500 to contribute to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering.  That’s quite a large amount of money for such a small group of children, but they have all the confidence in the world that they will meet and might even beat their goal.

Ornaments have been made to help Pre-K kids achieve their goal.  These youngsters have the ornaments available and the suggested minimum donation to receive an ornament is only $5.00.

If you would like a Lottie Moon Christmas ornament please contact Aubrey Peterson at (573) 624-7436 and help these children achieve their goal.  They will also have them in the Atrium after church on Sunday.

Your giving enables missionaries to be sent to make disciples and multiply churches among unreached peoples and places for the glory of God.

Church Women United Perform Vital Work

Dexter, Missouri - Church Women United (CWU) is a racially, culturally, theologically inclusive ecumenical women’s movement which was founded in 1941.  While no longer officially affiliated with the national organization, the Dexter area CWU continues to be an active organization in the community.

The local organization is made up of churches from Dexter and surrounding communities.  The group meets quarterly, with member churches rotating as host.  CWU supports various charities in the immediate area, while promoting fellowship and friendship among its member churches.

Among the organizations that benefit from the CWU are the Gospel Rescue Mission, the Stoddard County Children’s Home, Mother-to-Mother, and Feeding Christ’s Children—the summer food program.  The organization is open to women from all churches in the Dexter area.

Shown in the photo: Jean Whittenberg from the Gospel Resuce Mission explains how school supplies are collected and distributed in Dexter and the the Mission’s outreach facilities in Advance and Puxico.  CWU collected school supplies for the Rescue Mission prior to the beginning of the 2015-2016 school year.
