Bloomfield, Missouri – Christmas is just around the corner and the 5th Annual Claus for a Cause will be held on Sunday, November 24th.  Come and support the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and 18 ForeLife.

"The inspired vision of Julie Dodd in 2008, the event has continued to grow each year.  Julie and photography friend, Amy Ellinghouse, learned of the idea at a seminar that encouraged attendees to use their talents to bring good things to others.  With a passion and love for photography, the idea was created and the rest is a wonderful history of contributions to others."

You may purchase a high quality picture package with Santa, enjoy some great games, crafts and enjoy the live Christmas music.   T-shirts for the event are on sale now.  To order these awesome t-shirts and support two wonderful organizations go to their Facebook page by clicking "Claus for A Cause!"

Mail orders to Marrianne Bruce at 100 S. Mulberry, Dexter, MO 63841.  If you purchase your shirt from school, it will be sent home with your child.  All other orders may be picked up on the day of the event.  Make checks payable to Julie Dodd Photography.

This event will begin at 5:00 p.m. each evening with at least 32 premiere, award-winning artists from several states and some direct from the Branson Stage, providing exciting, powerful Gospel music and amazing fellowship that you won’t want to miss.

The Master of Ceremonies for the event will be Gene Peacock, Radio Personality on www.BrotherGenesRadio.com.  Sound and special lighting will be provided by Wil Thornton from Nashville, TN.

The line up for both evenings is nothing short of stellar.  Friday evening will feature: The Krepps Kids, Touched By the Master Qt., Jacob Keinbusch, David Isom, In His Name, Tina Sadler, Heartland Qt., Robert Penny, Kit Scott & Friends, Gloryland Qt., Richmond Qt., Final Journey Qt., Jennifer Krepps, Glad Heart Qt., JoyFul Noise (Bertrand), Eldon Wright (Kansas) and Cindy Keeley.  Saturday evening will feature:  Martin Goode, Liberty Belles, Belinda Clark, Darrell & Nemra Rhoden, Glory Road Travelers, Southern Tradition, Pastor Pudge & Sister Sludge (Courtneys), The Lawlesses, Full Circle, The Thorntons, Heart To Heart, Sixty West, Marsha Sue Mitchell, Wendell Johnson, Joyful Noise (Bloomfield), Anita French-Kidd, Mark Cave and Eldon Wright (Missouri).

All of these groups are great, several are from Branson, many are from at least 8 surrounding states and all of them share their love and joy for Jesus in their music and in their walk.  We have national and international singing and songwriting award winners to present the best in Gospel music.  You don’t want to miss this blessing.  Church groups are encouraged to bring a van or busload.  Friends, invite your family and friends.  Event promoters bring your calendars and media bring your cameras and microphones--and by the way, come hungry!  The Malden Chamber of Commerce will be providing concessions both evenings.

There will be door prizes, a silent auction and chances to talk to your favorite groups and have photo ops.  What better way to spend a weekend than in the midst of roofraising Gospel music!  RV hookups are available at the Malden Airport and hotel rooms are available in Malden and surrounding communities, but you need to reserve these now – space will be limited.

A Songwriters Seminar will be held on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. with a multi-award winning panel of coaches.  Cost for the seminar is $30 and you may also submit an original song to be critiqued.  You must register before the date of the seminar.

Dexter, Missouri - Pastor Steve Easterwood is hosting a Discover First Baptist Church class on Sunday, August 25th from noon - 2:00 p.m.

This is for anyone interested in becoming a member of the church or learning more about the First Baptist Church of Dexter.

Lunch will be served.  Please contact the church office at 624-7436 to make your reservation.

The First Baptist Church is located 11 West Castor St. in Dexter.

The Church is excited to have you visit with them.  Whether you already attend church regularly, or have never set foot in a church of any kind, the First Baptist Church is an exciting place to be.  Their services start each Sunday at 10:00 a.m.

Pastor Easterwood strives to help people lead authentic Christian lives in our world of troubled times.

"Life-relevant Teaching:  Join us in their Worship Center for a morning together. Pastor Steve is not your normal preacher!  He helps you learn Bible truths with creativity, laughter and heart-felt visual illustrations.  Every week you WILL learn a life-changing principle."

"Creative Worship Experience:  Entertainment pulls in a creative Worship experience including:  adult & children choirs, drums, electric & bass guitars, keyboard, piano, ensembles, organ, youth bands, orchestra, testimonies, video and more!"

"Video Venue in the Fellowship Hall:  Sit at a table with a cup of coffee and participate in the Worship Service by live video-feed!  Sometimes people would rather not attend the Worship Center but really want the Worship experience.  People use this venue because of preference, children, health issues or because they need to come and go more freely.  Whatever the need, feel free to take advantage of this way to worship with us!"

"Life-changing decisions:  As you experience this Worship time, just listen to your heart.  You may sit, stand, sing or be silent.  Some take notes and use the Bible that is provided.  You are welcome to keep this pew Bible, if you choose.  Toward the end of each service, their Invitation time allows people to come to the altar to pray or to talk to one of our Pastors about a spiritual decision or need.  Again, just feel free to follow your heart.  God really does change lives when we gather.  It is exciting and we are glad you are here to experience this with us."

Take that step and visit them this Sunday from noon - 2 p.m.  It could be a life changing event!

Dexter, Missouri - A group of 73 traveled from Dexter to Appalachia recently to do mission work in Cumberland, Kentucky. The mission team was primarily from the First Baptist Church of Dexter, but also had individuals from FBC Mauldin and St. Joseph General Baptist Church.

The team was made up of families, all ages serving together conducting a Bible Camp, Sports Camp, Counseling training, building repair, taking food to the needy, and offering free hair cuts to needy families. They served approximately 75 children and their families, and were blessed doing so!

As always happens when going on a mission trip, those who served were blessed as much as those that were served.
