Dexter, Missouri – The First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) would like to invite you to attend their services during Holy Week.
Sunday, March 24th is Palm Sunday with Worship Services beginning at 10:00 a.m. This celebration falls on the Sunday before Easter and commemorates Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem.
Thursday, March 28th is Maundy Thursday with services in the sanctuary at 6:00 p.m. – Passover Seder in the Disciple Center. This Holy Thursday commemorates the institution of the Eucharist at the Last Supper and the Christian sacrament that involves consecrating bread and wine.
Friday, March 29th is Good Friday with services in the sanctuary at 6:00 p.m. According to gospel, the Crucifixion of Jesus and his death was on the Friday before his resurrection, three days before Sunday.
Sunday, March 31st is Easter Sunday with Sunrise Service on the lawn of Bob & Janice Barney followed by Easter Brunch. Then at 9:00 a.m. there will be an Easter Egg Hunt at the Barney’s. Easter Worship Service will be held in the sanctuary at 10:00 a.m. Easter marks the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
You don’t have to be a member to attend the services at the Church. The Disciples of Christ Church doors are always open to anyone wishing to attend. The Church is located at 224 East Stoddard Street in Dexter. They also have a Facebook page to follow and a website, www.fccdexter.org.
