Dexter, Missouri – The First Baptist Church in Dexter, Missouri will be hosting an Auction for Missions on Saturday, February 16th at 10:00 a.m. in the First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. Doors will open at 8:00 a.m.
Concession stand will be available for those wanting to quench their thirst with soda and enjoy a hotdog or popcorn while they bid!
All proceeds from the auction go to help defray the cost for individuals going on mission trips planned for 2013. They are taking a Family Mission trip to Cumberland, Kentucky on July 27th through August 3rd to help Club 180 Ministries (a ministry of North American Mission Board). The church’s members will conduct a day camp for children and complete some building repair on their mission building.
That same week they will another group traveling to Nicaragua to build houses for the needy with Project Hope.The First Baptist Church is also planning a mission trip to Romania to conduct sports camps and work with youth. They have also had a group travel to Belarus every year to teach English classes and share the gospel.
What magnificent work the Church is sponsoring. Anyone wishing to donate to the auction may drop off items on Thursday, February 14th and Friday, February 15th from noon – 8:00 p.m. Please take items to the side doors on Walnut Street, the Fellowship Hall. If you are physically unable to deliver the items, they do have a small pick-up team on Thursday from 4 - 8 p.m. Please contact the church for assistance.
Furniture, antiques, quilts, tools, jewelry, decorations, glassware, any items of value except clothing will be accepted for auction. It’s time to clean out those storage closets and garages and help the missions! It is truly a worthy cause to support these folks in their efforts in the U.S. and around the world.
