Join us for Kids Day at the Museum: The Civil War in Southeast Missouri 1865 at The Stars and Stripes National Museum and Library on Saturday, January 25, 2025, from 10 am to 2 pm.


Immerse yourself in pivotal historical events, including the Emancipation of the slaves in 1865, and engage in interactive activities like a Scavenger Hunt and explore the lesser-known Southeastern skirmishes of the Civil War. Step back in time with our engaging Living History presentations featuring Civil War reenactors.


Event Highlights:

 Emancipation of Missouri slaves: January 11, 1865

• Scavenger Hunt

• Southeast Missouri skirmishes

• Living History with Civil War reenactors

The Dexter Auxiliary for the Kenady-Hanks American Legion Post 59 here in Dexter, Missouri will elect officers on January the 18th at 11:00 am.

This meeting will be very important as we will activating the charter for the Auxiliary!

Please help spread the word!!

The State Auxiliary President will be there to talk about the Auxiliary and it's benefits and so on.

If your interested please make plans on attending this meeting.

The First Post Commander for Kenady-Hanks American Legion Post 59 was Max Clodfelter. He was commander from 1925-1936 then again from 1938-1940

39th Stoddard County Ambulance District's “Home for the Holiday’s” Project

It is time once again for the Stoddard County Ambulance District “Home for the Holiday’s” project. 


"We are very excited to help our citizens home this holiday season," commented Crystal Gibson EMD-EMT-B

Stoddard County Ambulance District, Communications Supervisor. "We will be transporting patients’ home on Christmas Ever and Christmas Day. It is our 39th year and we hope lots of families use this wonderful service to enjoy their holiday."


Home for the Holidays


The following guidelines will be used for “Home for the Holidays” transports:


1.  Patients transported must be a resident of Stoddard County and be in a nursing home within the county.


2.  Patients will only be transported to a residence within Stoddard County.


3.  Transports will be made from 8 to 11 a.m. and from 1 to 5 p.m.


4.  All transports will be scheduled, however may be delayed due to any emergency calls. 


5.  The family must make arrangements with the nursing home staff.  The nursing home staff will then contact the Stoddard County Ambulance District Office.  The office will then schedule the time that is closest to what the family would like. 


6.  All patients must be in such a condition that they could not go home by any other means than by ambulance, without much difficulty.  The staff at each nursing facility will make this determination.  If you feel that the patient needs
