Dexter, Missouri - On Saturday, February 10, 2019 the Dexter Chamber of Commerce held their annual awards banquet at the Elks Lodge.

Kenny Pope, Chamber Director, announced the Organization of the Year.

SoutheastHEALTH Center of Stoddard County Auxiliary has been established for 51 years and served our community well.

They have a total of 56 members and have been through many changes this last year; adding additional responsibilities with a smile.

Through their continuous efforts this organization has been able to start a new program that has been very well received.  The "Bear Project" is where they make stuffed bears by hand and distribute to children who are having tests ran or are scared during their visits.

To date they have given out over 200 bears since June of 2018.  This year they have also purchased new equipment for Same Day Surgery Department and Nursing Floor and for patient rooms.  They all work very hard at fundraising.

This organization does so much throughout the year and they are a tremendous asset to the SoutheastHEALTH Hospital in Dexter.  Whether they are assisting with opening of an addition to the facility, staffing a new information desk, making bears for the littlest patients, or serving the community with a friendly face, they do it with pride and pleasure.

Congratulations to the 2019 Dexter Chamber of Commerce  Organization of the Year SoutheastHEALTH Center of Stoddard County Auxiliary.
