Downtown Dexter Tree Lighting Event

Dexter, Missouri - the Historic Downtown Dexter Association (HDDA) will host a Tree Lighting event on Sunday, November 4, 2018 at 5:30 p.m. 

The event will be held at the Dexter Welcome Center located at 10 W. South Main St.

Music will be provided by The Show Stoppers of Southeast Missouri.

Hot Chocolate and cookies provided by Bank of Advance.

The tree was donated by Dexter Wal-Mart and the lights by First Midwest Bank.

Come out for this even and if you do please bring a canned good item and place in the Blessing Box next to the Welcome Center!

Puxico Police and Fire Dept Toy Drive

The Puxico Police and Fire Department are raising money to help the families in our community at Christmas time.

The campaign will run through December 15, 2018.

They also have toy drop off locations around town starting October 15, 2018. 

Any money raised will go towards buying toys to help out any families in our community.

The Puxico Police and Fire Department wants to thank you for your support and have a very Merry Christmas.

The Lunch Box Invites Children to Trick or Treat!
Come and join The Lunch Box (formerly the Stoddard County Nutrition Center) on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 for Trick or Treating from 4:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. Rain or Shine!!!

They are located at 21 S. Stoddard Street.

Everyone loves to watch the children come in with their costumes and join in the activities.

There will be candy, a coloring contest, a guess how many contest and kids Halloween trivia.

This is a win for everyone- the kids get candy and fun and the seniors get to remember days gone by of their childhood or taking their children out.

McGruff Visits Bell City Schools

McGruff and Chief Deputy Andy Holden visited Bell City Head start and also Elementary on Wednesday, October 24, 2018.

Mr. Holden and McGruff talked to the children about Halloween Safety.  The students also received treat bags filled with delicious candies.

If your school is interested in McGruff visiting please contact the Stoddard County Sheriff's Department however time is limited as McGruff is a very busy dog fighting crime in Stoddard County!
