US Corps to Hold Wappapello Plan Workshops

Wappapello, Missouri - the St. Louis District U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is currently updating the Wappapello Lake Master Plan and the Shoreline Management Plan.  The purpose of updating these plans is to bring them into compliance with current US Army Corps of Engineers policies and regulations, update visitor use trends and obtain public input to ensure future activities are ensure future activities are accomplished in an environmentally sustainable manner.

Customer input is extremely valuable to this process.  The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers would like to invite the public to participate in this update process.  Two workshops will be held at Wappapello Lake.  Both workshops will be open for Master Plan and Shoreline Management Plan comments and will be held at the following times and locations:

January 17, 2018 from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. at the Greenville Elementary School, 195 Walnut St. Greenville, Missouri

January 18, 2018 from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. at the Bill Emerson Memorial Visitor Center, Missouri State Highway T, near the Wappapello Dam

Additionally, digit versions of the current Wappapello Lake Master Plan and Shoreline Management Plan can be reviewed at our website... www.mvs.usace.army.mil/Missions/Recreation/Wappapello-Lake/Wappapello-Lake-Master-Plan/

Users can submit comments pertaining to both plans through this website.  Please contact Assistant Manager James Gracey at (573) 222-8562 if you have any questions concerning the Wappapello Lake Master Plan or the Shoreline Management Plan process.

Dexter Firemen Honored for Years of Service
Dexter, Missouri- Five Dexter firefighters were honored for their years of service at the annual awards banquet held on December 16, 2017 at Hickory Log.

Receiving commemorative star pins depicting their years on the department were, from left, Beau Bishop with 20 years, Jeff Riddle with 25 years, Landon Miller with five years, Gary Kinder with 30 years, and at far right, Dale Rowe. Rowe is the longest standing veteran on the local Fire Department, having served for 45 years.

Congratulations gentlemen.  The Dexter community is proud to have you serving as local firemen.

New to the Dexter Fire Department
Dexter, Missouri - The Dexter Fire Department gained four new firefighters in the year 2017.

They were introduced during the December 16, 2017  awards banquet and include, from left, Wayne Jones, Troy Martinez, Bobby Billingsley and Andrew Edwards.

All men joined the department in 2017, although Edwards had served for a time previously.
