Annual Book Sale at Keller Public Library
Dexter, Missouri - Keller Public Library will host their annual Used Book Sale on Saturday, November 18, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Everyone loves books!  They also make great Christmas gifts and stocking stuffers.

Photo Display of SE Missouri's Native Plants and Wildlife to be on Display at Keller Library

Dexter, Missouri - The Keller Public Library will be the home of the MINGO Photo Contest winning photos exhibit through the month of December.

Photos feature native wildlife and plants, and people in nature. The photos show the considerable photographic talent of youth and adults in southeast Missouri. 

Winter is a special time to visit Mingo National Wildlife Refuge.

Waterfowl continue to arrive on the refuge.

The resident eagles are hanging around their nests, with eagles from the north adding to their numbers.

Deer are more easily seen in the winter. 

The refuge is open from daylight to nightfall every day.

The Visitor Center Wildlife with its natural history exhibits is open weekdays from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm during the winter months.

Bloomfield, Missouri - Bloomfield School District will hold their Veterans Day Program on Friday, November 10, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. in the High School gym.

All veterans and community members are invited to attend. Please enter through the south entrance of the gym.

Guest speaker will be Retired Captain Stan Lumsden

Stoddard County Children's Home Receives Large Donation
Bloomfield, Missouri - Farmers Insurance presented a check in the amount of $10,000 to the Stoddard County Children's Home in Bloomfield.

Pictured from left to right:  Clay Hurst, Jackie Mayberry, Janine Ballin, Mike Hill, Andrew Stuever,  Linda Sams, Lauren Mayer, Sue Grobe, Zenita Smith, Judy Ackerman, Joy Hudgens, and Judy Boyle.  Hurst, Hill and Stuever are all Farmers Insurance Representatives and everyone else is with the Stoddard County Children’s Home.

Clay Hurst, Farmers Insurance District Manager stated that as representatives of Farmers Insurance, that we are very thankful to have been able to present this support now for the 2nd consecutive year (to the Stoddard County Children’s Home). Agents in the various communities of Stoddard County, are very thankful and appreciative to be able to represent Farmers Insurance; a company committed to investing into the communities we serve.

"We have each personally donated to the Children's Home in the past, and will continue to do so."

After informal conversations with the board members present, the local Farmers Insurance agents indicated that they are even more impressed with the services that this great organization provides to the children and families of Stoddard county. They sincerely appreciate the Children's Home board members and administrators for their hard work and dedication in serving the county in this capacity.

2017 Miss Fall Fest Pageant

Dexter, Missouri - The Historic Downtown Dexter Association held their annual Fall Festival on Saturday, October 14, 2017.  A Fall Fest Pageant was held at the Dexter Depot/Welcome Center.

First Alternate is Faith Oliver and second alternate is Alexia Cross.
