
Dexter, Missouri - The Dexter High School Bearcat Event Center will once again be the location of the Veterans Day Observance Program to be held on Friday, November 10th at 9:30 a.m.
The event is sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary, the City of Dexter, the Dexter Public Schools, and the Crowley's Ridge and Chalk Bluff Chapters of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Mr. Earl Metcalf, a Vietnam Veteran will be the guest speaker.
This event is free and open to the public. The entire Dexter student body will be in attendance. The DHS Choir and the DHS Band will perform.
Veterans will be recognized and will stand when they hear the official song of their military branch, played by the Dexter High School band.
Other awards will be presented and students are working hard on their patriotic posters.

Bloomfield, Missouri - John Fisher will present his book, "Southeast Missouri from Swampland to Farmland: The Transformation of the Lowlands" on Monday, October 23, 2017 at 6:30 p.m.
The event will be held at the Stars & Stripes Museum and is sponsored by the Stoddard County Historical Society.
John C. Fisher is a freelance writer and speaker. He is the author of three books, two of which were co-authored with his wife and writing partner, Carol Fisher.

Bloomfield, Missouri - Are you crazy about horses? The 4-H Horse Camp will be held on November 4th from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. at Elderland Farms in Bloomfield.
You will absolutely love our “All About Horses” camp!
Youth will learn about horse care, horsemanship safety, ground handling, saddling and mounting, preparing a horse for shows and How to RIDE a horse!!
"We will have many experts and guest speakers to help youth learn about horses," commented Rachel Elder, Youth Program Assistant for Stoddard County.
Cowboy/Cowgirl lunch will be served at high noon and snacks will be provided.
Cost for the camp will be $40 or $20 if you are a current active 4-H member.
If you are not a 4-H member, we can apply $20 to a 2017-18 4-H membership.
Space is limited.
Enrollment forms are available from 4-H club leaders or at your local MU Extension county office.
