Local Teen Elected to Missouri State 4-H Council
Essex, Missouri - Laura Stickles of Essex returned from Columbia where she was elected as a Regional Representative to the Missouri State 4-H Council.  The election took place as part of the 72nd annual State 4-H Congress, May 31-June2, which was attended by over 200 Missouri teens.

The State 4-H Council is a group of teens who represent the voice of youth for Missouri 4-H, serving as mentors, ambassadors, and playing a major role in statewide 4-H events.  4-H is the youth development arm of MU Extension, and last year over 22,000 Missouri children and youth participated in one of Missouri’s 804 4-H clubs.

Laura is a junior at Richland High school, and an active member of Rebel 4-H, Star Banner 4-H, and Stoddard County 4-H Riders Club.

“I’m looking forward to serving on State 4-H Council, said Laura.  I want to further develop my leadership skills, and put my experience to work to help others.”
