Bearcat Fall Community Tailgate Committee Donates to Southwest Elementary

Dexter, Missouri - Thanks to a very successful 2016 Community Tailgate Homecoming event sponsored by a group of individuals in the community, they were able to donate $100 to each of the buildings in the Dexter R-XI School District.

Amy Ellinghouse from SoutheastHEALTH, Brandy Wirz from Key Drugs, Cammy Gard from Bank of Advance, Dana Adams from FM Bank of SEMO, Hillary Starnes from Dexter Chamber of Commerce, Dee Loflin from ShowMe Times, Michelle Reynolds from Three Rivers College and Amber Rodgers from Bank of Advance worked very hard this year to create a tailgate atmosphere prior to the homecoming game between the Dexter Bearcats and the Kennett Indians football game.

Tailgaters were charged a fee to set-up.  The Tailgate Committee felt that the monies received would once again go to the Dexter Public Schools.  This year each building received $100 with the remainder of the money to be used to purchase an inflatable tunnel for the school to use at sporting events, graduation, back to school bashes or any other school sponsored event.  They haven't quite reached their goal to purchase the inflatable, but it is hoped to have a few more events in the winter or spring to raise money for the large purchase.

The Community Tailgate Homecoming committee has donated to various school clubs in the past.

Shown in the photos are Hillary Starnes, Chamber Director and Mrs.Jacinda DeWitt, Southwest Elementary Principal along with a group of students representing Southwest Elementary!
