Tropical Sno Donates to Maura Peters' Family
Dexter, Missouri - On Friday, September 10th during the Dexter Bearcats and Memphis Middle College football game, Tropical Sno opened their mobile building for "Last Sno for a Cause" before closing for the winter months.

Zach Hedrick, owner of Tropical Sno SEMO set up at Charles Bland Stadium and gave away sno cones for donations for Maura Peters' family, Hailey Laws' family, and for Vidalia Mace.

They also wanted to donate to the Dexter High School Robotics Club who run the concession stands during the football games; however Mrs. Tiska Rodgers, Robotics Club Sponsor, in a wonderful gesture returned the donation to give to the families.

"When a tragedy like this hits our community, people come together," stated Hedrick.  "We just wanted to do something and thought this was a good idea."

Shown in the photo are Lauren Sims, Tropical Sno employee presenting a $250 check to MawMaw and Papa, Gene and Susan Gaines, grandparents of Maura and great-grandparents of Bryson.

Gene and Susan's granddaughter Maura and their great-grandson, Bryson Umfleet, both passed away in a vehicle/train accident in Dexter on Friday, September 2, 2016 along with Hailey Laws and her son, Weston who were also killed in the accident.  Vidalia Mace survived and is recovering in a St. Louis hospital.
