Poplar Bluff, Missouri - The public is invited to attend a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to celebrate the completion of the FEMA safe room and science classroom addition at Poplar Bluff Junior High School, the first of several campus-wide expansion projects under the R-I district buildings plan made possible by the passage of the historic levy in April 2014.

Who: Poplar Bluff Board of Education, Long-Range Planning Committee, Citizens’ Advisory Council, Committee for Our Kids’ Future, Dille and Traxel Architects, Zoellner Construction, Poplar Bluff Chamber of Commerce

When: 9 a.m. Thursday, April 7

Kiwanis Easter Egg Hunt Winners 2nd and 3rd Grade

Dexter, Missouri - The Kiwanis held their Annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 26, 2016.  More than 2,500 eggs were hidden in Dexter’s West Park.

 

The Easter Bunny made an appearance and children of all ages scrambled to find the three special eggs. 

 

Winners of the 2nd grade through 3rd grade were Hannah Watson, Cameron Bell, and Wyatt Hickman.

 

Congratulations Hannah, Cameron, and Wyatt.

Winners of the pre-school age division were Kasen Blevins and Tommy Passley.  Kasen found two of the “special” eggs marked for a special prize!

Billy Pat Wright Selected as 2016 ARC Membership Chair

Dexter, Missouri - Billy Pat Wright is honored to be this year’s honorary Membership Chairman for the Stoddard County ARC. 

“I am proud to be part of such a worthwhile organization and I am asking you to join us,” commented Wright.

By becoming a member, you will help to make it possible for the ARC to continue providing programs and services to people in Stoddard County.  As a result, more children and adults will have the opportunity to receive these much-needed services.

The ARC provides the following services: Community Residential Living Facilities, Respite Care, Developmental Habilitation Training, Community Integration, Socialization Activities, and Transportation.

The ARC continues to strive to add new and better programs.

“On behalf of the developmentally disabled children and adults we serve, thank you for your continued support,” continued Wright.  “We sincerely hope you will help us once again by joining us and becoming a member of the Stoddard County ARC.  We need your help!”

Membership dues are $10 per person annually and may be submitted for the 2016-2017 year by mailing them to ARC Office, 1318 W. Grant St., Dexter, Missouri 63841.  You may also stop in and pay.
