Dexter Baseball Fundraiser Slated Saturday

Dexter, Missouri - The Dexter Bearcat Bullpen Club will host a Crawfish Boil on Saturday, March 19th at 3:30 p.m. or at the conclusion of the 2 p.m. Dexter vs Clearwater game at East City Park in Dexter.

The Bearcats will begin their morning against Cooter at 10:00 a.m.  Clearwater and Cooter will play at noon.

The City of Dexter and Dexter High School are combining efforts to enhance and make improvements to the baseball field.

10th Annual Corned Beef & Cabbage Feed

Dexter, Missouri - The 19th Annual St. Patrick's Day Ecumenical Corned Beef & Cabbage Feed w/General Store will be Thursday, March 17, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Parish Center in Dexter.

The meal includes corned beef and cabbage, parsleyed potatoes, cornbread, homemade dessert and a drink for $8.00.  Carry Outs are available and FREE delivery with a minimum order of 10 meals.  Children six and under eat for free.

This event is sponsored by 12 Stoddard County Churches: Broadwater Church of the Brethern, Dexter Evangelical Free Church, Dexter First Assembly of God, Faith Lutheran, first Christian Church, DOC, Bernie Christian Church, First United Methodist Church, Sacred Heart Catholic, Sadler's Chapel United Methodist, St. Joe General Baptist Church, Risen Church, and Southwest Nazarene.

All proceeds will got to the Stoddard County Gospel Mission, Stoddard County Children's Home, Meals on Wheels and Stoddard County ARC.

Cub Scouts Visit Stars and Stripes

Bloomfield, Missouri - Local Bloomfield Cub Scout Pack #72 and their families visited the Stars and Stripes Museum/Library on Saturday, February 27, 2016.  They were very excited to see so much memorabilia in the museum especially all the planes and uniforms.  Their favorite sections was the airplanes.

Bobby Haas is the Cub Master and has more outings scheduled for his troop. If you are interested in joining a Cub Scout Pack please give Bobby or Amy Haas a call at (573) 421-2934.

Bloomfield, Missouri – It’s that time again for the 5th Annual Larry B. Jones H.O.P.E. Campaign fundraiser!

Larry B. Jones HOPE Campaign is in memory of their dad, in honor of their mother, and for all who have battled cancer themselves or have fought alongside a family member or friend.  This is their small way of giving back!  They celebrate H.O.P.E. – Healing, Optimism, Prayer, and Example!

This year they are raffling two $500 Wal-Mart gift cards!  Tickets are on sale now through April 27, 2016.  Tickets are $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00.  Drawing will be held live on DKEX 102.3 FM / 1590 AM at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 28, 2016.

Since March 2011, the Larry B. Jones H.O.P.E. Campaign has raised $60,000 for area cancer warriors.
