Relay for Life Kick-Off Scheduled for January

Stoddard County, Missouri - The 2015 Stoddard County Relay for Life was one of the most successful events in their twelve years according to Belinda Worley.  This year it is their hopes to make 2016 an even larger event.

Help them kick off their 2016 Relay for Life of Stoddard County on Monday, January 4, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. at Bootheel Pediatric Therapy located in the Dexter Chamber of Commerce building at 515 West Market Street.

Relay for Life Teams assist in aiding cancer patient's needs in Stoddard County and contributing to cancer research to find a cure according to the American Cancer Society.

This is a drop in event to learn how to get your team started.

This is the best opportunity to pick up everything you need for your team to "Paint Your World in 2016".

Bloomfield Chamber Hosts - It's A Wonderful Life

Bloomfield, Missouri - More than 300 people gathered around the beautifully decorated Stoddard County Courthouse on Wednesday evening to celebrate "It's A Wonderful Life" hosted by the Bloomfield Chamber of Commerce.

The Bloomfield Chamber has become more active recently hosting and co-hosting various events in the city.  This was the first of its kind and hopefully will become an annual event.

A dog show was held with seven entries and a light contest was also held.

The winners for the light contest received a $50 Visa Card each!

Best Bloomfield Business - Dee Dee's Custom Creations

The Clark Griswold Award (Most/Tackiest Lights) - Tiffanie Smith

Best Street - Maple Lane

Zach Zook and the Leftovers sang several songs.  They were quite the hit with folks singing from the bleachers.

The Bloomfield Community Choir under the direction of Buddy Heaton kept everyone in the Christmas spirit with their renditions of several holiday tunes.

Even jolly old St. Nick took time out of his busy Christmas season to visit with the children.

A Christmas Reading by Alice Fowler and to end the festivities was Greg Stevens who prayed for a blessed Christmas and to all the military who are put in harms way each and every day.  "Be thankful for all you have and your family," he said.

Also a BIG THANKS to their Sponsors:  Granny Pickers,  Town and Country, NAPA Auto Parts, Wyatts One Stop, Briney & Sue Welborn, On The Go - Bloomfield, Sweet T's & Co, Mike Maroni Law, Shelter Insurance , Gary & Donna Deardorff, Classic Cuts , Wethington Tire, Christian's General Store, Quality Floor Maintenance , and Miller Street Antiques.

"It was an awesome evening straight out of a Hallmark movie!" stated April Bond.  "Please do it again!"

"I hope this becomes an annual event," stated Brook Allen, member of the Bloomfield Chamber of Commerce Board.  "It's the holiday season and we just wanted to bring Bloomfield together and make it a special night."
