2015 Stoddard County Pageants Slated for October 4th

The pageants will be held Sunday, October 4, 2015 at the Dexter High School Auditorium beginning at 2:00 p.m.
The following categories will be included: Little Miss (ages 3 to 7), Petite Miss (ages 7 to 11, or in the fifth grade), Junior Miss (ages 11-14, grades 6, 7, and 8), and Miss (age 14 to 20, grade 9 and above).
All contestants must be residents of a Stoddard County School District, or attend a Stoddard County School.
They must also be a reigning Queen, or attendant in their respective category or age group. Any title bestowed from October 5, 2014 to the date of the pageant meets eligibility requirements.
Entry forms and rules will be available at all area High Schools and the Bunny Patch in Dexter. An optional rehearsal will be held on Friday, October 2, in the Dexter High School Auditorium
The deadline for entry is 4:00 p.m., Thursday October 1. The order in which entry forms are received has no bearing on the order of contestants’ appearance in the pageants.
Proceeds for the pageants will be used to help various community and county projects such as the Karen Pippins Scholarship, 18 Fore Life, Relay for Life, the Stoddard County Children's Home, the ARC Groups Homes, the local Beta Sigma Phi Scholarship, Christmas gifts for needy families, and the Stoddard County Rescue Mission.

Dexter, Missouri - Leah Ballin of Advance is the 2015 reigning Queen of the 87th Stoddard County Fair.
First Alternate is Caroline Powers of Dexter and Second Alternate is Megan Cullum of Essex.

Rhythm Steppers Earn 5th Consecutive First Place Win!

The parade was held on Tuesday, September 22nd down Stoddard Street. This marks the 5th consecutive year that the Puxico Marching Band has earned the top spot among all the bands.
Second place went to the Bloomfield Marching Wildcats. Third place went to the Bernie Marching Band.

Bloomfield Area Nutrition Center's Weekly Menu

Bloomfield, Missouri - The Bloomfield Area Nutrition Center (BANC) will have their weekly lunch at 11:30 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. on Wednesday, September 23, 2015.
The menu will be Country Fried Steak, Mashed Potatoes with Gravy, Corn, Salad and Dessert!
BANC is a non-for-profit organization that provides services to seniors of Bloomfield. They are currently providing meals every Wednesday at a cost of $4.00 for ages 60 and above. Not 60 yet, that’s OK too. Meals for 59 and younger are also available for a cost of $6.00.
If you would like to donate your time or money to the Bloomfield Area Nutrition Center please contact them at (573) 895-2142. The center is located at 609 N. Delaware St.

Weekly Senior Center Lunch Menu

Monday, September 21st - Polish sausage, breaded beef fritter, baked potato, cabbage, whole grain bread and pears.
Tuesday, September 22nd - Pancakes, sausage, hash browns, biscuits and gravy, and cinnamon roll.
Wednesday, September 23rd - Chicken and dumplings, ham, green beans, yams, cornbread, and gooey butter cake.
Thursday, September 24th - Beef and noodles, barbecue leg quarters, corn, coleslaw, whole grain bread and pineapples.
Friday, September 25th - Fish sandwich, Sloppy Joe, potato wedges, baked beans, bun and banana pudding.
