GoFundMe Account Set Up for Nancy Abernathy

Bernie, Missouri - Keith never expected to be a caregiver for his wife who is fighting for her life and battling cancer.  Nor did they ever believe they would be asking for your help.  But when your life is turned upside down by this awful disease you are drawn closer, you pray, and you rely on friends to keep your spirits lifted.

Friends have not only set up a bank account at all 10 First Commercial Bank locations, they have started a GoFundMe Account.  With treatment bills mounting and Nancy unable to work their way of life is threatened to change forever.  Money is all but gone and this family who has given to the community for many years may lose all they have worked so hard to maintain.

Nancy and Keith just welcomed to the world their first grandchild and while most of us would be out buying baby outfits and toys, the Abernathys have to count every penny and give to the doctors and hospitals for her ongoing treatment.

You can help!  If everyone who reads this article just gives $20 and amazing amount of money can be raised to help them so they don’t have to sell their home.  She would do the same for you, or anyone she knew suffering from this debilitating disease.  It's time to give to Nancy!

Since September of 2014 Nancy has dealt with the surgeries and chemotherapy treatments, which has kept her from returning to work. Now she is on unpaid medical leave with insurance premiums higher than you could imagine.

Please take a moment and go to her GoFundMe Account by clicking HERE and give all that you can!

Delicious Delights - Cinnamon Roll Fundraiser

Essex, Missouri - Delicious treats await you and who couldn't resist a big ole' cinnamon roll!!!

The Harvest Assembly of God Church is hosting their annual Cinnamon Roll Fundraiser this week.

Beginning today through Thursday, July 30th the Consumed Youth Group will take your orders.

A dozen rolls are just $20, but you can also order ½ dozen for just $12 and if that’s still too many you can buy individually for only $2.00 each.

The proceeds from the homemade delicious cinnamon rolls will go to Speed The Light.  What is STL?  The concept is very simple.  The give so others can speed the light of the gospel to a world in darkness.  This is accomplished by providing the “essential transportation and creative communication” equipment for missionary evangelism.  Through modern transportation, radio, television, the printed word, and equipment for mass evangelism, their missionaries can better fulfill the Great Commission.

The Harvest Assembly of God is located at 209 Trotter St. in Essex.  You can place an order by clicking HERE or by contacting Becky Rice or the church at (573) 283-5577.

Raising Money to Improve Football Fieldhouse

Raising Money to Improve Football Fieldhouse

Bearcat D Club Fundraiser

Dexter, Missouri - A group of “like-minded” Bearcat Supporters have come together with the purpose of raising monies for the Dexter Public School Foundation to be utilized for some major improvements at the Charles Bland Stadium.

A few of the items that are in need of sprucing up or repair is the Bearcat field house.  They are slated to begin work during the athletic “dead week” by putting in a new drop ceiling in the field house, fresh paint inside along with a new water fountain.  They are also painting the concession stand to match the other buildings at the football field and are painting the chain link fence surrounding the property as it has a lot of exposed rust.

The new inside look would not be complete without all new lockers.  They have ordered 65 new lockers for the football team!

Along with the new football lockers are nameplates.  These 10” x 6” nameplates will be attached to the locker and remind players of the community’s support as well note historical Bearcats who walked the halls of Dexter High School.

Whether you are a past or present Bearcat, a family member of a Bearcat, or a dedicated Bearcat fan, you are a part of a great Bearcat Nation!  You can have your own custom dedication plaque.  Each nameplate will cost $400 and can be purchased by individuals, businesses, reunion classes, groups of friends, families, and teammates can go together to sponsor a locker.

The old lockers will be removed and there are plans to sell them.  That information will be made available at a later date.

Anyone can make a donation of any dollar amount to help support our Bearcats!

To Support Our Bearcats just make a check payable to Dexter Public School Foundation c/o Laura Miller and send to 1031 Brown Pilot Road in Dexter, Missouri 63841.

For more information you can contact Jason Comfort at (573) 624-5540, ext 235 or (573) 421-0742 or Brett Dorton at (573) 625-8828 or Robert McMullin at (573) 891-0648.
