Dexter, Missouri- The twelfth annual Dr. Ron and Donna Hill Classic will return for another round of golf on September 21st and 22nd!

All proceeds from the Dr. Ron and Donna Hill Classic form the Dr. Ron Hill Scholarship Fund.  This is a scholarship program that assists those healthcare professionals who are working full-time in Stoddard County and wish to continue their education to enhance their skills and knowledge. 

Over the last year, over forty-five scholarships have been given.  This year’s tournament is planned to be bigger and better than ever with over $6,000 in prizes!  It’s an event you don’t want to miss!

There will be HOLE PRIZES, DOOR PRIZES, and GOODIE BAGS!

Pre-payment is required to guarantee registration.  The tournament entry fee includes three days of golf (including a practice round) at the Hidden Trails Country Club, a quality golf shirt, goodie bag, and door prizes.  There will be an optional skins game (not included in entry fee) both days of the tournament.

The entry fee will be $210 per team and $70 per man.  You may choose between an 8:00 a.m. tee time or a 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.  You will be assigned a tee time on Sunday.

Providing quality health care in the Stoddard County community was both a mission as well as a passion of both Dr. Hill and Donna.  Their legacy of helping those in this community will continue with the scholarships that are made available through this tournament.

SoutheastHEALTH is the principal tournament sponsor for this event.   All sponsors will be listed on a certificate and inserted into the golfer goodie bag! Sponsorship opportunities are available below:

Platinum Sponsors $1,000

Platinum sponsors receive entries for up to two teams and your banner displayed at the course during the tournament, a tee sign, and will be included in the event signage and advertising.

Gold Sponsors $500

Gold sponsors receive an entry for one team, a tee sign, name included on our tournament banner, and will be included in event signage and advertising.

Hole Sponsors $200

Hole sponsors will receive recognition at the tee box of one of the course’s 18 holes for both days of the tournament.  We will also feature the hole sponsor in the event advertising.

Event Sponsors $100

Event Sponsors will be featured in the event advertising.

Gift in Kind

Any amount you choose.

Raffle or Door Prize Donation

Any item donated will be given away in a raffle held during the tournament or as a door prize held at the end of the first day of play.

Dexter, Missouri - Sheryl Smith, Commander of the American Legion's District #14 was in Dexter, Missouri to conduct the installation of Kenady-Hanks American Legion Post 59's newly elected officers.

Shown in the picture below and serving post 59 will be from left, Sgt. at Arms, George Duncan, Historian, George Cox, Chaplain, Randy Cannell, Finance Officer, Sherry Whaley, Adjutant, Scott Harding, Second Vice, Dan Slavings, First Vice, Eric Smith, Commander, Darryl Lapierre, and Commander, Sheryl Smith.  Not present for the photo was Veteran Service Officer LaWanda Swearengin.

The Kenady-Hanks Post 59 officers have many upcoming events planned.  The annual Stoddard County Fair Parade and Fair from Sept 17 2013 (Tues.) to Sept. 21, 2013 (Sat) at the Stoddard County Fair Grounds, Dexter, Mo.

There will be a POW/MIA Recognition Ceremony on September 20, 2013 (Fri), 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.

Notes: Poplar Bluff Veterans Affairs Medical Center will host POW/MIA Recognition Ceremony at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield. Contact Ken Swearengin at 573.578.3871 with names of former POWs in our area. 

The annual  Veterans Fishing Day will be held on Sept. 26, 2013, Thursday from 9 am to 12 pm at the Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri.

The Veterans Service Day will be October 12, 2013, Saturday morning from 8 am to 12 pm at the post in Dexter.

Dexter, Missouri – If you want to support the Dexter Senior High School Student Council this is a must have T-shirt!  Anyone can purchase a Homecoming shirt, you don't have to attend Dexter High School.

The Student Council is offering the Dexter Homecoming shirts, which are 100% pre-shrunk, and come in short or long sleeves.  They are Red with a full color front design as shown in the picture.

Just print the form, fill it out and return to Jennifer Miller, DHS Counselor by Tuesday, September 24, 2013.  The cost is only $10 for a short sleeve t-shirt and $15 for the long sleeve t-shirt.  2XL are just $2.00 more and 3XL are $3.00 more.  What a great way to show your Bearcat spirit by wearing one of these awesome t-shirts.  Notice the green eyes!  Way to go STUCCO!!!!

Dexter, Missouri – For more than 70 years, the Miss Dexter Pageant has been an annual tradition in the Dexter community.  The DHS Choral Music Program hosts the pageant each year.

This year's Miss Dexter is Rachel Putnam, daughter of Denny and Shannon Putnam.  She is a junior at Dexter Senior High School

First Alternate is Shelby Gathings, daughter of Bobby and Angel Alford.  She is also a junior at Dexter Senior High School.

Second Alternate is Chandler Crowley, daughter of Terry and Tammy Crowley.  She is a senior at DHS.

Congratulations to these three beautiful young ladies!  The Dexter community is extremely proud of you and your accomplishments.

Dexter, Missouri -  Today marks the beginning of Dexter's 29th Annual Industrial Appreciation Week.  Mayor Joe Weber signed the proclamation declaring this week Industrial Appreciation Week in Dexter, Missouri. 

Present for the signing were members of the Dexter Chamber of Commerce and city officials as well as Chamber President Scott Nelson from First Midwest Bank, Jason Mattison from U.S. Poly, bobby Copeland from Gateway Shoes and Bruce Miller from Specialty Engineering.

There will be a wide range of activities planned this week by the Chamber.  On Monday fruit baskets will be given to industry managers, on Tuesday over 4,000 cookies will be delivered to business employees, on Wednesday a four-person golf scramble at Hidden Trails Country Club will be held, on Thursday it's sweet treats for industry employees, on Friday a complimentary breakfast at Pizza Hut beginning at 7:00 a.m. and finally on Saturday the festivities continue with a bowling tournament at Dexter Bowl.
