Dexter, Missouri – Want to rock to the sound of the Christian Band, SAMESTATE?

Join the First Baptist Church Sunday, January 27th at 7:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.  Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.

Disciple Now 2013 is going to be bigger and better than ever!

The DNOW Registration Party's theme this year is “SHADOWS” based on the scriptures Isaiah 9:2 and 49:2 and the name of SAMESTATE's latest single.

The band members of SAMESTATE, Dalton Diehl and Darren Harms, vocalist/guitarist/songwriter, Ray Wyatt, guitar/keyboards, drummer Blake Leoni and Ryan Lytle, bassist have shared their personal "Shadows" stories on their Facebook page and website www.samestatemusic.com.

"It has been interesting to see how God has used some of our songs to really speak to me," Dalton said.  "I often feel like I am just writing a song, but then a couple weeks later, I'll realize God was trying to say something to me in that time and it finally clicks.  I hope the fans have that same kind of experience."

Their album, "Alignment" meshes seamlessly, taking each member's disparate musical influences and merging them into a sound that is both infectious and approachable.  Their backgrounds include pop, rock, Americana, and country and it all blends together on stage./images/SAMESTATE 2.jpg

Disciple Now will be held February 1st 2nd and 3rd and is for the youth; both middle school and high school ages.  It is considered to be part of the genetic make-up of the church family and a bedrock community event.  This will be the 32nd consecutive year that the First Baptist Church has hosted Disciple Now.

It will be an amazing opportunity for youth to grow in fellowship with other students and encounter the Lord.  Students will gather for the weekend, staying in host homes based on grade and gender.

They will participate in several impacting sessions, worship experiences and have times for discussion. as well as enjoy valuable time with friends and a crazy weekend of activities.

For more information, please contact, Minister of Youth, Greg McGhee, at 573-820-5238.

Headed To The Top Students Rewarded
Dexter, Missouri - T. S. Hill Middle School was filled with excitement as 195 students along with 9 teachers made their way to the SHOW ME CENTER indoor aquatic facility this week.

The event was held as a reward for those students earning the 2nd Quarter "Headed to the Top" trip.  After the a swim in the aquatic center pool, the students returned to T. S. Hill Middle School to enjoy a pizza party.

This is a special group that qualifies by each student being required to earn a letter grade of all C's or better, NO discipline referrals, and fewer than 3 absences.

"We are really thankful to everyone that allows our school to do this for our students," commented Scott Kruse, Middle School Principal.  "This continues to be a great way to motivate them to make good grades, stay out of trouble, and come to school."

Stay Tuned for 2013 Coverage!

Dexter, Missouri- For many of the surrounding schools, Christmas Break has come to an end, and school is back in session. For many students and teachers, it can be hard to get back into the routine of things.

Although things do slow down a bit over Christmas Break, lots of sporting events still took place over the couple of weeks that school wasn’t in session. Wrestling matches were still held, cheerleaders still cheered, and there were quite a few basketball games being played throughout the area.

While the students and staff at local schools are getting back into the swing of things, the 2012-2013 school year will continue to provide us with many activities to cover around the area.

Remember to visit us at ShowMe Times for the latest happenings with schools and businesses throughout the area!
